A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Okay, sorry, we can't summon Satan just yet.

The next day.

Shin was standing before the entrance to the Velvet Room in Shibuya Central Street. He made sure he had enough money to finish his last task.

'Let's get this show on the road.' he said, entering the Velvet Room.

A short transition later, and Shin found himself in the all-familiar cell once again.

"I see you're returned here, Trickster. I assume you'd want to finish your last task." said Justine.

"Yep."

It already cost Shin a small fortune just to summon the 4 Personas needed to make Seth in the first place. Adding that to the cost of fusion, and Shin was glad that he had put Sho in farming duty for most of the day.

'And that's Seth with High Counter.' thought Shin, mentally patting himself on the back.

"You've completed all your tasks, inmate. Very good." said Caroline. "These tasks you have made were very apt for him, Justine."

"Hm?" Justine looked puzzled. " What do you mean? I did not make them."

"What? Then who..." started Caroline, but she stopped midway through, as she gripped her head in pain.

"Caroline...? What's wrong?" asked Justine, worried.

"I just... This list, it's making me remember things... Just... Why are we wardens, Justine?" she asked, grimacing.

"Why...? Because our master told us to. Is that not enough for you, Caroline?"

"Aren't we supposed to overwatch the inmate's rehabilitation? Why are we doing so many things that assist him then?" she asked.

"I... don't know. That is... weird." said Justine.

Both wardens became quiet at that, as they both fell into deep thought. Shin was quietly waiting for them to return to their senses as he was wondering whether they'd actually remember something.

However, someone did, in fact, interrupt the wardens. And that is Igor.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked.

His question made the wardens snap out of the pondering, and Shin mentally clicked his tongue.

"No. We are fine." answered Justine.

Then, the 2 wardens turned to look at Shin once more.

"We should set aside these questions for later." proposed Justine, and as she received a nod in response, she continued. "The price of fusing Personas that are too strong for you now has been permanently halved, Trickster."

At that moment, Igor looked at Shin and clapped his hands a few times.

"I can sense your bond has matured. Very well done, Trickster. I must inform you that every time you develop a bond to such a level, you obtain a Persona that signifies your bond. So continue to further your bonds, for the sake of your rehabilitation."

Shin chuckled.

"This is just great."

Meanwhile, Caroline and Justine were looking at Shin who was cackling maniacally, and almost felt sorry for the Shadows that would be his enemies.

-INTERMISSION-

The Thieves met at the Shibuya Station.

"Okay, let's get the suggestions rolling." said Shin, very excited, opening the Meta-App.

Ryuji leaned towards Morgana, who was perched up on a bench near them.

"Dude, why the hell is Shin so pumped?" he asked, trying to be more quiet than usual.

"I don't know. On the way here he started chuckling for no reason." replied the cat, concerned about the black-haired teen's mental health.

This chapter's additional info is on... the Strength Arcana!

Portrayed as a young woman holding up a terrifying beast (more often a lion), the Strength Arcana symbolizes an imagery beyond the Beast And Beauty, and is associated with the morality about the stronger power of self-control, gentleness, courage and virtue over brute force. In tarot readings, it can also represent creative or physical energy that needs to be or is about to be unleashed, sometimes out of desire to be recognized. The card is also named Fortitude in some decks, further giving meanings revolving on courage.

Gameplay-wise, the Personas of the Strength Arcana are commonly Personas excelling in Physical attributes. Archetypes embodied by Strength Arcana Personas are warrior figures and heroes, or are figures that embody strength of body or character.

A commonality between characters of the Strength Arcana is their strength of heart. Strength characters are not upset easily and typically portray the fortitude that the Strength card represents in readings.
