A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

It's boring

Shin was disappointed that Iwai didn't have his swords yet. Though, his disappointment wouldn't last long.

As he was walking through Shibuya's central street, he came across a particularly thoughtful-looking Shiho.

"What are you thinking about, Shiho?" he asked, making the black-haired girl jump.

"Ah! Shin! Where did you come from?" she said.

"From a hospital, about 16 years ago. Why do you ask?" he replied, putting his hands in his pockets.

"T-That's not what I meant..."

"Hey, Shiho. Can I get your help on a matter?" said Shin, looking dead serious at the moment.

"Huh? Of course. But why do you need-" Shin cut her off as she was talking and simply tugged her arm in a direction.

"Follow me. You'll see when we get there."

Shin led the girl down to the underground mall in Shibuya. There, the boy headed to the sports store, Shiho shortly following.

"So you see, I wanted to ask you, in your expert opinion as an athlete, what the best home gym equipment around here is."

"Eh? That's... it?" said Shiho, underwhelmed.

"What, were you expecting something more 'exciting?' Sorry to disappoint you, Shiho. I'll make it up to you later, okay?" said the boy, patting her head.

"D-Don't worry about that! We should see what's around here."

Shiho went and checked all of the equipment in the store, going from punching bags to stationary bikes and even looking at some resistance bands. Though all of her ideas about other were dropped instantly as she laid her eyes upon it.

"O-Oh my! T-T-That's the Body-Solid StrengthTech EXM2500S Home Gym! This is crafted from heavy-duty steel, so it has a superior construction, this home gym machine puts a host of essentials in one place. This isn't just a gym set, it's the gym set! It has a pec station, a press arm, a leg developer, not to say about the high, mid, and low pulleys! And it even comes with a lifetime warranty! With its simple design, maximum performance and a minimum price, it won the Consumer Magazines number one Home Gym!"

"Loaded with 95kg of cast iron resistance, the EXM2500S can perform even the most demanding strength training routines! Muscular growth and definition are rapidly achieved throughout each of the precision built, biomechanically designed stations! It's amazing!"

The girl then checked the price tag and sucked in a deep breath.

"The price is amazing as well..." she muttered.

The home gym was 90.000 Yen, which made it the most expensive product in the entire shop.

"I'll take it." said Shin, and bent down to pick up the box.

However, as Shiho said, the home gym weighted 95kg, so he was quite imbalanced and almost fell over.

Under the shocked eyes of Shiho and the cashier, Shin bought the mechanical device and kept on walking with it, despite its heavy weight.

"Sorry to ask you for help again, Shiho, but I can't really see where I'm going with this box. Could you guide me on my way to LeBlanc?"

"Uh, okay."

As Shin and Shiho went on their way to the cafe, they didn't notice that only a few meters back, a red-headed man wearing a cap was tailing them.

The man's most obvious trait regarding his appearance was the cross-shaped scar plastered across his face.

"So that's where you were..."

A slime, also commonly called ooze, are common types of monsters in many fantasy role-play games. True to their name, they don't usually have any distinct shape and appear as large masses of gelatinous fluid. Slimes and oozes vary between mediums, with some being intelligent and capable of assuming basic shapes with others being nothing more than brainless piles of goo that dissolve whatever matter becomes enveloped by their bodies.

Like oozes, many slimes dwell underground, and most secrete an acid from their skin that dissolves flesh and other materials rapidly. In D&D, slimes are essentially blind, but more than make up for that with an ability called "blindsight," which allows them to discern nearby objects and creatures without needing to see them visually.

Slime is the second Persona of the Chariot Arcana.
