A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Info dump ahoy!

Shin was walking to LeBlanc after picking up Morgana. As it seems, the cat-like being fell out of his backpack the moment he entered the Metaverse on the roof.

He had briefly explained what had happened with Murasaki back in his apartment, excluding the circumstances around the mysterious knight. The cat didn't need to know that.

Shin was in deep thought after what he heard from Murasaki. Apparently, his knight was, in fact, King Arthur, and he was a Heroic Spirit who belonged to the Suit of Swords. The fact that he said "Suit of Swords" confused Shin, and when he probed the teen further, he started explaining the Arcana. He briefly mentioned the Major Arcana, and then talked more in-depth about the Minor Arcana.

As far as he knew, Heroic Spirits had to be summoned through a ritual of some sort, but Murasaki didn't disclose on the details of the ritual he himself used. He did talk about catalysts, at the very least. They are symbols and holy relics used to attract the desired Heroic Spirit. It can be anything from a sword, armor, a talisman, or even their bones.

Each Heroic Spirit has a different Suit, according to their traits and abilities. For this particular instance, Arthur is of the Suit of Swords because he himself uses a legendary sword.

Murasaki then explained how the people who summon and control Heroic Spirits, who call themselves Masters, are aware of Personas, and how they're much stronger than Heroic Spirits. Despite that, the Persona-users to Masters ratio is very much in the Masters' favour. From what Murasaki knew, only a few humans actually tap into the power of Personas, as it is unknown to most how to do that.

Murasaki personally didn't encounter any Persona-user before, but he knows for a fact that Heroic Spirits can't harm Personas. Personas can simply vanish before they are struck, while Heroic Spirits take a longer time to appear and disappear. Additionally, whenever a Heroic Spirit is wounded, it costs their Master energy to recover.

The teen also mentioned that there were some groups of Persona-users almost 20 years ago that could share their Personas among them, which made them all the more fearsome.

Normally, a Master can only have one Heroic Spirit at any given time, and the same holds true for normal Persona-users. Multiple Personas meant a bigger headache for any opponent, and if any Persona-user with the potential for that was discovered, they'd immediately become a large threat for Masters around the world.

'Good think I only used Arsene then.' thought Shin, humorously.

Murasaki then mentioned that the Heroic Spirits summoned listen to their Master only if they have a good enough affinity for the Heroic Spirit's Suit. He said that he himself has a 7 out of 10 in the Suit of Sword, which made Arthur, a Heroic Spirit that is properly used by 9's or higher, a little sluggish, compared to his intentions.

"Why're you standing there, looking so serious?" asked Sojiro, when Shin stood in place for several minutes, too busy thinking.

"You're standing too." pointed out the black-haired teen.

"It's my job to stand here, you know. And you could at least move from the entrance." replied the old man.

"Alright, alright." said Shin.

The teen went up in the attic, and properly flung his bag on the couch.

"Guh!" exclaimed Morgana. "What did you do that for?"

"You know," started Shin. "I'm thinking we need to hurry up those plans for summoning Personas in real life. Start preparing your luggage. We're going travelling."

This chapter's additional info is on... the Minor Arcana!

The Minor Arcana are divided into four classes, Wands, Cups, Swords, and Coins, which are all called suits. Each suit has 10 numbered cards, ranging from Ace to 10, as well as four face cards, or King, Queen, Knight, and Page, unlike the three face cards in common decks. The four face cards are called court cards.

There are 14 types in total, between the pip cards or number cards, and the face or court cards, summing up to a grand total of 56 cards.
