A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Damn, I might've just gotten a really good idea

Shin leaned on a bookshelf, while his eyes looked over the summary of the book on the back.

"I don't really get why you'd need this. If you just asked me, I could've helped, you know."

Saki pouts and says annoyedly.

"Aren't you too busy with other stuff?"

"Mm, not really." said Shin, after a moment of pondering. "Junya wasn't all that hard to find, after all. I'm rather free right now."

"Then, what about our deal...?" Saki asked.

"It's pretty hard to find people that'd go well with you." he said, but when he noticed the girl looking gloomy, he added. "but it's not as if I have no one for you to meet. One of them isn't ready to meet other people, though, but once she does, I'm sure you'll be able to become good acquaintances."

"Huh?"

"C'mon, let's go. I want you to meet each other."

Though still somewhat confused, nevertheless, Saki followed him. After prodding the black-haired teen for answers in regards to who this person Shin found to be her friend and failing, the braided girl resigned herself to simply walking besides him.

She noticed they were heading to the gym, which was rather weird, in her opinion. To her knowledge, only the basketball team practices inside that day.

"What are we doing here?" she asked.

"We're waiting for her." stated Shin, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"'Her?' I thought the basketball team only had male players. Or are you talking about their manager?"

The brunette shivered as she thought of the quiet beauty. While she didn't speak much, when she did, she spoke with such blandness that it sent chills down her spine. It wasn't as if she was disdainful, but rather... detached. Saki was feeling lucky that she was a third year, which meant they barely came across each other in the hallways.

"No, not her, though that IS an interesting idea." thought Shin, rubbing his chin absentmindedly. "But no, that's not who I'm having you meet today."

As he said that, a certain redhead just exited the lockers.

"Oh, hello, Shin." said Kasumi, with a nod. "Are you here to the basketball practice?"

"Nope." he replied, as he stepped aside. "Kasumi, this is Saki. Saki, Kasumi."

The black-haired teen pointed back and forth between them.

"I know you're having a hard time making friends with people," he told Kasumi. "so this is just a win-win situation for the 2 of you."

"T-That's not-" started the redhead.

Shin lazily waved his hand.

"Don't bother. I've already heard people talk about how lucky you are and stuff like that. I imagine most students are envious of you, correct?" he said.

Kasumi flinched, as she couldn't quite refute that statement.

"While Saki, on the other hand... I'm not really sure as to why you can't make friends, but anyways, the 2 of you are in the same class. Might as well get to know each other, seeing as you'll be in there for another 2 years." said Shin, as he begun to walk away from the two.

"Wai-" started Saki, but Shin closed the door of the gym at that point.

Shin smiled, feeling good about himself.

"Why are you smiling to yourself like that?"

The boy turned his head, and he could see what he could only assume to be the basketball team's manager. The girl had black hair and blue eyes, and was currently giving him an odd look.

"Nothing, really." he said. "Just that I did a good thing."
