A Fool's Change of Heart

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything besides the name of the protagonist. Persona belongs to whoever created it. Also, the No One 17 and Under Admitted is because of the excessive swearing, dark themes and not for the possible (but unlikely) lemons. Shin Yuuta, who unknowingly had caused world devastation in another timeline, had been sent to the sea of souls to cleanse the influence a malevolent entity, composed from humanity's evil thoughts, had over him. Wielding the gifts he had received from his body's previous host and a certain mask-wearing being, it is up for our protagonist to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. P.S: The pic I used for cover isn't mine either.

Curse the sickness

Shin sat down on a bench with Marie.

"I get that this guy Yaldabaoth is bad news, but I don't see why you would need to summon your Personas in this world, if you can just fight in that 'Metaverse' or whatever." said Marie.

"It's not that I need to fight him in this world, but rather, if I can use my Personas in reality, I can focus more on training to fight Yaldabaoth."

Marie paused to think, and Shin continued.

"Besides, if he does manage to win, he won't be satisfied with just Tokyo. He'd probably take over the country, and then the world. And last time I checked, Inaba was also part of this world."

The goddess stood up, annoyed.

"Fine, let's just get this over with." she exclaimed.

She clasped her hands, and a piece of paper appeared in between them.

"Here. Just sign at the bottom." she said, shoving the paper into Shin's hands.

"Wonderful. Now, could you make it so that it also protects those I form bonds with from Yaldabaoth's influence. I know those with Personas aren't that easily manipulated by him, but not all of my friends have a Persona." said Shin.

Marie sighed, and with a move of her hand, another line was added on the paper.

"I don't have enough power to protect all of the people you make a bond with. But what I can do, is make it so that your bonds are what's fueling this protection, and it'll only get better the tighter the bond you share is."

"That works." said Shin, with a smile on his face as he took out a pen from his bag. "Feel free to call for my help if anything happens."

The teen quickly signed his name on the paper, after which it simply vanished.

"This went better that I though. Good thing I didn't just call Philemon from the beginning. That would've been awkward."

Marie looked at him, apprehensively.

"You... know Philemon? Why didn't you just ask him to make a contract with you instead?"

"Because I'm still mad for the whole Fate thing. And it's gonna be all the more satisfying to deal with Yaldabaoth without his help." said Shin.

"What?" the girl was confused.

"Don't worry your little head with that. It's just between him and me." said Shin, patting Marie on the head, taking full advantage over the height difference between them.

"Stop that."

Shin chuckled.

"I'll be going now. Take care, my goddess."

As Shin took his leave, a blonde man appeared next Marie and looked at Shin's back suspiciously.

"Who is that? Why was he calling you his goddess?" he asked.

Marie facepalmed. She got rid of one annoyance, and another one comes her way.

"Teddie, just... go flirt with someone else or something."

-INTERMISSION-

Later that day.

"So did you manage to convince her?" asked Hayato, who looked like he expected a negative answer.

The black-haired teen went to his home after he was urged by the older man to tell him what happened in person.

"Mmhm."

"Don't be too disappointed she said no. Summoning Personas in this world isn't even that- Wait what?"

"We signed a contract and all that. I initially offered her a cat, but she didn't want it, unfortunately. We did strike an agreement later, though."

"I can't believe you wanted to trade me away." said Morgana, grumpily.

"Next time..." muttered Shin.

"I suppose if you managed to do that, this is the least I can do to help." said Hayato, stretching his hand towards Shin.

"What?"

"We're exchanging Personas, so shake my hand already."

"Are you actually giving me Izanagi-no-Okami?" asked Shin, excitedly.

"No. You can't handle that much power just yet. I'm giving you Izanagi, my initial Persona."

"Oh..."

This chapter's additional info is on... the Aeon Arcana!

Unlike the other Social Link arcana, the Aeon Arcana is not a part of standard Tarot decks. In Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, it replaces the Judgement Arcana.

Personas of the Aeon Arcana are often divine mythological figures. They typically have varying abilities and attributes, though many of them have an affinity with Light, including the arcana's ultimate Personas, Metatron and Kaguya.

A common theme for characters representing the Aeon Arcana is their attempts to fully understand themselves, as well as the world around them. In both of the Aeon Arcana's appearances, the Social Link characters in question were unfamiliar with the way the real world works, and struggled to discover their own place in this unfamiliar world.

This Arcana is only present in Persona game rereleases.
