Viktor stood in a dimly lit hallway with his eyes glued on the phone in front of him as the moon shed an ethereal glow over the airport lobby. He quickly dialed the number that would put him in contact with his formidable vampire lord master Dimitri.
The phone rang twice before Dimitri's deep voice echoed through the chamber. "Viktor, what news do you have?"
Viktor took a deep breath, his voice hushed but laced with excitement. "Master, I guess I have successfully captured Anna Eliz. She is now under our custody, there's no way she'll be escaping as she submit herself voluntarily"
For a brief period, only the sound of Dimitri's regular breathing could be heard. Viktor could feel his master's complex feelings, a potent mix of contentment and need for more.
Dimitri's voice resonated with a quiet intensity. "Excellent work, I know your capabilities won't fail me, Viktor. Keep her secure and bring her to me immediately. We must proceed with caution, for she is not an ordinary human."
Viktor nodded, even though his master couldn't see him. "Yes, master. I will ensure her safety and deliver her to you soon."
After the call ended, Viktor's thoughts began to wander to Anna. He had been given the terrible duty of ensuring her safety and smooth entry into their world of immortals. Despite his unshakeable commitment to Dimitri, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret for the lie that lay ahead.
Days flew by as quickly as lightning as Viktor carefully held Anna at his side. He made sure she was comfortable and safe while hiding his genuine motives. He was aware that the time to tell her the truth was drawing near, but he was unable to ignore the growing attraction he felt for her. While they were staying at a posh inn in Transylvania, he was gradually becoming aware of a connection.
The phone rang one evening when Anna was sitting in a plush room, her mind racing with concerns and uncertainties. Knowing that the outcome of this conversation would influence the course of their connected lives, Viktor's heart pounded as he answered.
"Viktor, it's time," Dimitri's voice commanded through the receiver. "Bring Anna to me."
Viktor glanced at Anna, her eyes reflecting a mix of fear and uncertainty. He knew he had to handle the situation delicately, to provide her with the answers she sought while keeping her safe from the dangers of their immortal existence.
Anna's voice trembled as she spoke. "Viktor, who was on the phone? What's happening?"
Viktor approached her, his expression filled with a mix of concern and resolve. "Anna, there's something I need to tell you. Please trust me when I say that everything I have done has been to protect you."
Anna's eyes widened with a mixture of confusion and disbelief. "Protect me? From what?"
Taking a deep breath, Viktor revealed the truth, his voice filled with a blend of sorrow and determination. "Anna, I am not who you think I am. I am a vampire."
" A vampire who walked perfectly fine under the heat of sunlight?, rubbish!"
"I mean, a familiar. I have been tasked with bringing you to Dimitri, my master. But please understand, our intentions are not to harm you. Dimitri seeks a connection with you, a bond that defies time."
Anna recoiled, her gaze filled with a mixture of fear and betrayal. "You're a vampire? And you've been keeping me captive all this time?"
Viktor's words rang in Anna's ears, pounding in her chest. Know any vampires? That couldn't be real. However, the once-warm and kind intensity in his eyes had changed. Before she could collect her composure, she fled into the dark, dense woods after stumbling backward and locking eyes with him.
Anna paid no attention to the branches that whipped in her direction. She moved forward out of fear, her breath coming in jagged gasps. She needed to go, find safety, and process the unbelievable information. The familiar roads were suddenly hidden in a new, ominous darkness as the forest engulfed her.
Anna slowed down as she went further into the forest. She was gasping for air as she leaned against a gnarled tree due to tiredness. She experienced a wave of fear, perplexity, and a tiny bit of stubborn curiosity. She wondered how Viktor, the guy she loved, could be involved with the paranormal realm that she had only ever read about.
Suddenly, a low, melodic voice broke the silence. "Anna," Viktor called out, his tone laced with regret. "Please, let me explain."
Explain?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "You expect me to believe that you're a vampire familiar?"
Viktor took a cautious step forward, his hands held out in a gesture of surrender. "I know it sounds unbelievable, Anna, but it's the truth. I wanted to protect you from this reality, but I can't keep it hidden any longer."
Viktor's voice was filled with remorse. "I never wanted to hurt you, Anna. But there is more to our world than you could ever imagine. Dimitri believes that you hold the key to his own salvation, to a love that will endure throughout eternity."
Anna's emotions were in turmoil, her mind racing to comprehend the unimaginable.
"I need time to process this. Please, Viktor, give me that."
Standing in front of Anna, Viktor looked at her with a look of sincerity and optimism. He tried to give her a glimpse of knowledge and the opportunity to make her own decisions because he was aware of the gravity of the information he had shared.
"Anna, I know this is a lot to take in," Viktor began, his voice soft and sincere. "But please believe me when I say that our intentions are not to harm you. Dimitri, my master, he seeks a connection with you that he believes transcends time."
Anna scanned Viktor's face for any indication of deceit. She was still filled with confusion and anxiety, but she was unable to ignore the unbreakable bond that had grown between them during her incarceration. She inhaled deeply in an effort to calm her fluttering heart.
"I need some time to process all of this," Anna replied, her voice filled with a mix of apprehension and curiosity. "But if what you say is true, and Dimitri genuinely seeks a connection with me, why should I trust him?"
Viktor's expression softened, and he took a step closer to Anna, extending a hand to gently touch her arm.
"I understand your hesitation, Anna. Trust is something that must be earned, and I believe Dimitri is willing to prove himself to you. He wishes to invite you to our ancestral home in Transylvania, where you can meet his family, learn more about our world, and make an informed decision."
Viktor's gaze held hers steadily.
"Transylvania is a place of immense beauty and history, Anna. It is where our kind has found solace and created a haven for our existence. You will meet others like us, who have chosen a different path, and have the opportunity to witness the intricate dynamics of our immortal society."
Tears welled up in Anna's eyes as she stepped closer to him. "Tell me everything, Viktor. I need to understand."
With relief on his face, Viktor nodded. He proceeded to describe his foray into the supernatural realm and the tragic night he turned into a vampire familiar as they took refuge beneath the shade of a large oak tree. The secrets came to light, engulfing Anna in a world she had never imagined possible—a world where love and darkness were entwined and tested the limits of their relationship.
