Ranch

Tatiana rode with Jack while Patrica rode with Eric, they arrived in the afternoon. Her mother was overjoyed upon seeing him.

"Finally we will get to eat that meal you promised " she laughed.

Eric helped with their luggage and they moved into the house. It was a huge house with a barn in the back.

"You never told me your home was this beautiful " he whispered to Tatiana.

"You never asked " she giggled.

After having a heavy lunch they took walk to the ranch, "I know you boys might find it difficult but when you get used to it, then the fun will begin " Tatiana told Jack and Eric.

Eric didn't get close to the horses claiming they might kick him.

Patricia laughed, "They are friendly, you just have to be gentle with them," she said.

Jack was already on one with Tatiana as they strode down the field.

With Patricia's help, Eric was able to get on one, she sat behind him to keep him steady and they rode off with him screaming.

Her mother sat back and gazed down at the two couples and smiled. She had wanted to talk to her daughter but then changed her mind, she was too happy to spoil it.

"Are you okay ?" they asked Eric the moment Jack helped him get down.

"Yes...I just need some air " he huffed.

They laughed.

The next few days went by smoothly, the boys learnt how to milk the cows, feed the calves and clean stables. Jack was so good at it that he looked like he had grown on the ranch, while Eric was still having trouble with everything.

Jack and Tatiana drove off to the town to buy some things for dinner so Patricia sat at the back and enjoyed the evening sun.

"Can I join you ?" Eric walked in.

"Sure " she moved aside.

He sat down next to her and sighed.

"I guess you all think am a spoilt brat now, I have done nothing but be a problem "

She laughed, "No one has thought or said anything like that and you even trying is already something to be proud of "

"Really, I feel like the only good thing I do is eat "

"I was like you too when I first visited but with time I got better at it so don't worry you have done your best ...even Mom likes you " she smiled.

"Thank you " he sighed.

"Have you been friends with Jack for long ?"

"Yeah, since we were little "

"That's nice, he's a good man I hope he treats my friend well in the future," she said.

"Jack is in love with her so trust me he won't hurt her," Eric said.

"I hope so 'cause I want to eat my friend's wedding cake " she laughed.

He chuckled, "And you don't you have plans for yourself?"

"I do but I just still have a lot of things to accomplish ".

"Like what if I may ask ?"

She giggled, "A lot..like opening up my mall and helping my father get his business back on track ".

He smiled, "I hope you achieve your dreams, Patricia "

"I hope so too "

They gazed at the sunset in silence.
