Loosing And Gaining Friends

I peek outside through the windows still pulling over the blinds to hide my face, "you know if you just master our colony's power you can see through the blinds without having to pull them up?"

I gazed over towards Riya who looked at the window with the blinds folded then turned back facing Zed and Ben," they're still far enough for us to make our escape to the other colony."

I only needed my coin pouch as the other fae's started gathering their belongings and packing them. That was all I required to get past the project guards and other security measures.

Even though everyone keeps mentioning Azova City and how Elenor will be there, I don't believe them. My whole life has been centered around the idea that I'll find her one day at the project sight; I can't just let someone else divert my attention. My parents have always told me she joined the project.

As I took my backpack and properly put it around my waist and started to fly, I looked back and kept my eyes on Riya. but soon as I spread my wings, Ben grabbed me and threw me to the ground.

"What is your problem.?"

"calm down if the guards see you flying they're going to know you're a blue and will capture you."

As much as I disliked him I knew he was right and if he cared enough to stop me it means he was dead serious about needing my help, they all were.

Finally, we started to leave the store. As much as I wanted to know what they were talking about, I turned to see Riya and Ben shutting the doors while also talking. I tried to move more quickly because I needed to go immediately.

...

We arrived at an entire field. It was enormous and packed with structures placed close to one another. Swings, slides, and monkey bars were available. I recognized my old school as we passed it on the street; I had gone there as a child. I faintly recall it, but I do recall being on the swings and meeting Faith behind the monkey bar. He was younger, and his hair was long and silky; I assumed he was affluent since he was wearing black skinsilk shorts, and his shirt lay there beside him on a bench as he instructed another pupil.

"You okay?" zed tugged on my shoulder making me slip out of my memories and back into reality.

"I'm good," I give him a flimsy smile and look down, concentrating on the pebbles in the sandy area. Maya shoved Zed and me, then ran for the swings, followed by Riya and Ben. "Come on your highness, have some fun." Ben shrugged, I turned my head to zed, who appeared eager to join them but was hesitant because I didn't want to.

"We have to make it to the red colony before midnight."

"What's the rush prince? We'll get there but I feel like we all need a rest. We've been walking for a while." Ben insisted.

That redhead was really getting under my skin, and I could feel myself burning in rage. I wasn't sure whether I was doing it out of pure hatred or envy, but I did know one thing for sure….

I did not like Ben.

I I sighed and looked over my shoulder to see Zed standing expectantly, "fine," He leaps high and sprints directly for the swings while I roll my eyes. I smiled as I observed him running and playing with Maya because I understood that despite being my age, he was undoubtedly a child stuck in a body belonging to a 17-year-old.

"Join us on these shoddy swings, oh prince of Zagoroth; we know they're no match for the ones you have in the palace," Riya smirked and teased, "I assume the royal swings are flawless." As she pointed her hands toward an empty swing next to her.

I walked up to them looking at the condition of them , the dirt and rust made me want to puke, the swings I did have at home were always clean. I stared at it with a weird look then back at Riya who rolled her eyes then shoved me on the swing.

I let out a girl cry before shutting my mouth then squinting my eyes in disgust. I grabbed a hold of it and felt the swing move on its own, I realized it must be Riya.

As her violet hair now changed to a stunning iris hue and floated with the breeze, she appeared to be concentrating on herself and her swing rather than me. She pricked up her ears, and I realized I was looking at her. After a little while, I turned around to see Zed focused on me, and it suddenly dawned on me that he was in charge of directing my swing. He was the one person I felt like I could completely trust, and I felt horrible because I had injured him earlier.

I then closed my eyes and took in the fresh air as it hit my face every time my swing got faster. I was beginning to enjoy it until I heard a loud tug as if someone had fallen and my swing stopped in mid air sending me flying.

Everything happened so quickly that I didn't have time to draw out my wings to protect myself, and I crashed onto the hard rocks in front of me. I instantly stood up while holding my head up, and Riya asked, "Are you okay?" as she ran my way. Her expression was serious.

Zed, who was standing there next to Ben, caught my eye and said, "I'm sorry," before pushing Ben aside and running towards me.

I shoved away from Riya and hurried towards Ben, I was so going to make him pay, in a rush of adrenaline and anger I didn't focus on my bag that had slipped off my waist.

"What is that?" Zed started by taking my pouch out and shaking it; the sound of the coins was audible, but I quickly ran back and took it from him.

"Why can't you guys take this seriously?" I glared at him and then put my pouch back inside and tied the bag on my waist.

"You guys let my sister leave without stopping her, and if she's alive, I'm going to find her without you guys. I'm sick and tired of trusting some babies to perform my job. I don't need such immature fae's running around me destroying things rather than helping." I then stretched my wings and started to fly away, not pausing for even a second to glance behind me.

I felt a chilly breeze as the air hit my face, which was just what I wanted because I had missed it so much. As I continued to fly, I realized my rage had no basis in reality….

I had scolded the only fae that could help me escape the only fae's i had met and my only friends. I tried to brush these thoughts out of my head.

I only have one goal, finding Elenor…
