One Class Wonder

Today I thought that I would test out some of my new skills down in the forest. Mother and Terre were coming with me, so I would be fine no matter what comes along.

Oh, Terre is the name that Mother and I gave to the Ant Queen. After all, it would be awkward to juts keep calling her "Ant Queen" or "Ant lady" so she asked us to give her a name.

On the way down to the forest I had few things I wanted to ask Terre about…

"Hey Terre, how come you are a humanoid form now? Did you reach the maximum level and evolve?" I asked curiously.

"I do not actually know lady Alicia. After you passed out, I pledged my loyalty to you. Not long after I said that I evolved into this form. When I awoke after my evolution, you were in a humanoid form yourself. So I thought that maybe you would know something about it?"

Hmmm maybe it has something to do with one of the skills I got for evolving…. Ah! I remember, it could be this one!

"Oh! Perhaps it is this skill, it's called [Humanoid Subordinates]. Hmmm it says that if a subordinate has declared fealty to you, once they meet certain conditions they may evolve into a humanoid form of their race."

"Fufufu sounds like I do certainly have you to thank for this new form, lady Alicia. Perhaps I can reward you by letting me stroke your head or massaging your tail later hmmm?" She said while slightly blushing and heavy breathing.

Although her demeanour might seem like she is quite a reserved and serious maid like character, you can definitely tell she is a bit strange like Mother.

"M-my tail…. Er I-I am not sure… I mean my tail is a bit sensitive…" I say rather hesitantly.

"HEY! Terre we discussed this no trying to get a head start in trying to spoil Alicia didn't we?" Mother shouts back to us as she had walked a little bit ahead.

"Hehe I am sorry lady Petra, she is just too cute I could not stop myself." Terre says apologetically

"Uuuu I totally understand, we will have to work out a time share or something." Mother replies.

Aside from them totally deciding my fate in front of me without my input, I am glad that Terre and Mother seem to get a long so well. Though it gives me mixed feelings that their bonding topic is how cute I look.

"Anyway, if you have evolved Terre, what is your race called now?" I asked interrupting their strange conversation.

"I am now a Earthen Chaos Ant, my evolution seems to have given me a stronger Earthen Element affinity and also some affinity to the Dark Element. I believe that your race title also had chaos in it. So I think my evolution and my new affinity with the Dark Element has been shaped by becoming your subordinate, as the system put it."

"I think you may be right Terre. Kukuku, maybe we should fight later to see if you have become any stronger." I say mischievously.

"If you wish lady Alicia, though I would much rather juts spend a relaxing day out with you instead."

"But that's no good! We can't spend all day doing nothing, especially not doing any sparing or fighting. It drives me crazy when Mother makes me have the odd rest day!"

So it turns out that Terre in fact does not enjoy fighting as much as me and Mother. I asked her why she had such determined eyes and why she seemed so excited during our fight, but she just said it was a secret. Kinda Stingy.

I also learned that I had now gained the ability to understand the common world language, now that I have evolved and got a humanoid form. That was why I could now understand Terre when she speaks.

On the way Mother said that we had to stop somewhere. I was not really interested at first but she said it would help me get stronger, and that then grabbed my attention.

"Okay Alicia, we are here. This is what used to be called and Adventurers Guild, in here there is something that will allow you to obtain a Class."

How interesting, I wonder what the guilds function was. Either way I can ask later, its not as if the one here was functioning so it wasn't currently important.

The building was a big and wide and looked like it could have two or three floors within it. As we entered the building it looked a lot like a tavern or pub in the way it was set out. There were old decaying benches and tables, also there was a place that looked like a front desk.

We walked past these and up some stairs, that run either side of the front desk, up onto a balcony that overlooks the rest of the large front room. We enter one of the side rooms which I then notice, has a booth within it.

Mother then points at the booth and says...

"Alicia, enter the booth and there will be a crystal ball within it. Often, you will then be shown multiple options that you can choose as your Class. They will be ones that the system has judged to suit you. Your level of skill in your class is then measured by a percentage bar that shows your proficiency in it. Once you reach one hundred percent, like your race, your class can evolve. These Classes will give you extra skills that you can use in both battle and in everyday life." Mother explained.

"Both you and Terre will be picking a class today, now that she has a humanoid form, she can pick one as well." She says

How exciting! I wonder what choices Terre and I will get.

"Lady Alicia, you may go first." Terre says while open the door to the booth.

I do not argue as I excitedly hurry into the booth with a big smile on my face.

"So cute…"

"So cute…"

I hear them both say, but I ignore them and go inside while Terre closes the door behind me.

Inside the booth was a bench and table with a crystal on top of it. I sit down at the bench and put both hands on it. I close my eyes and wait for the class options to come to me.

Wait… is this the only class you are giving me!? No other options?!

Uuuuu why is my system so mean to me…

Haah right let's check out the [Berserker] class, not like I have much choice though.

Berserker: This is a class of the warrior branch that love to be on the forefront of a battle. They are said to be able to enter a trance like state of euphoria when in battle.

Skills for this class are…

Blood Lust: Enter a trance like state were pain is nullified and strength is increased to cause more damage.

Berserker Link: If another Berserker is fighting with you, minds can link up which helps with coordination.

Weapon Enhancement: Enhance the strength of your weapon. Increases the damage it can inflict on an opponent.

More skills maybe gained, or skills may evolve as your class evolves.

Huh sounds like it will be quite a fun class after all… maybe my system does know me.

I picked the only class I was given rather happily in the end.

I exit the booth to the expectant faces of both Terre and Mother.

"Soooo what class did you pick Alicia?" Mother asked.

"Well I was only given one choice, but I am quite happy with what it was in the end. I got the [Berserker] class!" I say proudly while taking a pose to show said pride.

"NO WAYYY! You got the same class as what is started out with Alicia!"

Mother grabbed me and brought me into a big hug.

"R-really you are a Berserker class too?" I say while being suffocated yet again.

I was not really that surprised to be honest, I mean Mother loves fighting and battling just as much as I do.

"Yupp! It was the only class I could choose! Hehe now I can teach you how to be a great Berserker like Mother!"

That sentence got me really excited.

"Really! You'll teach me how to do all those super powerful moves like you do!" I said with increasing volume.

Mother stuck out her chest in a similar prideful pose that I took earlier, except I feel her pose is a lot more devastating and captivating then mine. I think while I stare at a particular part of her body.

"Anyway your first lesson, when you are fighting with your Berserker skills you go bang! And then Zoom!" Mother explained with hand movements.

I stare at my insanely powerful Mother with awe as she imparts her wisdom, while Terre stares gently at the two of us.

"Lady Petra, Lady Alicia? I will now be entering the booth myself." Terre lets us know before heading off to the booth.

"Hmmm ah! Good luck Terre!"

"Yes, good luck Terre. Alicia we shall continue our lesson later, for now let's wait for Terre to pick her class and then head to the forest."

Mother and I wish luck to Terre and decided to end our lesson for now as we wait for Terre to pick her class.

Not long later Terre appears out from the booth.

"Terre! What class did you pick?" I shout as I run towards her.

"Fufufu I picked the class [Governess]. It is a class that, among other things, will allow me to better increase my intelligence and organisation. I feel that it would be best to fill in out weak points." Terre says with a gentle smile.

Mother and I tilt our heads in confusion, not completely knowing what she meant.

"Oh! Now we all have our classes, lets head down to the forest and try out some more of our skills!"

Mother and Terre agreed, so we headed out of the old guild towards the forest.

Time to test my growth!
