A Dragon

The rays of rising sun could vaguely be seen in the distance.

After the small vial was put in Long Lei's palm, Long Lei opened his eyes.

"Son, why don't you try this liquid?" Mrs. Long quickly asked.

Long Lei remained seated on the sandalwood seat. His hair spread out on his back and front, looking like a cloak on his bare skin.

He looked up at his standing mother. She was concerned as always.

"Mom, I need much more energy. This won't just be enough. I will gather energy and try it again during the estrus. Hopefully this time I could succeed."

Few seconds passed in silence.

His mother suddenly put a hand on his head looking at him with a kind expression.

"Xiao-Lei, always love your mate. Do not unnecessarily get jealous and wrong of your mate. Always trust him. You should first hear what he has to say before making any conclusion. Fights are common in a couple. They will make your relationship more closer, don't get worried in a fight, think clearly. We do not care whether your mate is male. Do not make him insecure about this. We will always bless both of you."

Long Lei's cheeks got hot. He really could not stand such things said by his mother.

But hearing this, his heart was full of longing. He hasn't even seen how his mate looks. And does his mate know about him? Does he love him? Or will he run away from his dragon identity?

A man's loud booming voice suddenly sounded along with a thump. Long Lei came out of his thoughts.

"Brat. If you dare to wrong our son-in-law I will break your leg and kick you out of the house. And if you dared to molest him then no need to call me your father. I can't bear to have such a son. If I ever got to know that my son-in-law was forced by you then I will personally remove your tail." It was Father Long.

He was sitting on a Blackwood chair and banging the armrest. Hot smoke came out of his nose. Long Lei painfully looked at the deformed part.

"Hey dad! I will obviously not wrong my mate. Do you know how rare that chair is?! I will also take one equally valuable chair from your treasury and break it. Let's see how you will feel."

Long Lei was suspicious. Why were his parents acting like they won't be able to see his mate?

He still shirked the thought away and looked at his old man who seemed to erupt at the thought of his treasure being broken.

Hmph!

There wasn't much time before his next estrus. There seem to be a lot of treasures in the ocean. Maybe he should go to the ocean floor and find some energy resources.

He can also get some gifts for his mate.

He better not waste his time.

"You-you!! You dare to keep your eye on your father's treasury! Come here, let me teach you a lesson! Today I will-"

Before Mr. Long could complete his sentence, Long Lei suddenly stood up and ran towards the window.

"See you later mom, take care. Old man, calm down a little. I will come back with my mate and then talk to you! Do prepare a lot of rare gifts for him!"

After saying this, without looking back Long Lei dived out of the window and down to the cliff.

He simply let himself fall down without doing anything.

He spread his arms and enjoyed the feeling of freefall and the thrill released by human hormones...

Human hormones were such a thing. He always liked to experiment with them. The sudden increase of adrenaline, the rushed feeling while falling in the air, and the sudden ups and downs of heartbeats, they were amazing.

Although, he slowly stopped feeling them as he grew up and realized that he was numb to them. Only a few instances like these always remained.

His thick black hair was flying and taking weird shapes. They flew up and blocked his face, tickling his skin, he enjoyed it.

The cliff was very high. There were still about 50 meters till he reached the ocean.

Long Lei remembered how his mate made him feel very different sensations. He always felt certain abnormal sensations in his stomach when he thought of him. His heart always fluttered, his cheeks would automatically become red.

And he would feel a pain in his chest whenever he said goodbye to his mate at the end of estrus. His heart would feel like getting painfully twisted at the thought of never meeting his mate. He would even get tears down his cheeks.

He learnt what vulnerability of human beings was.

Such human things...these sensations... he never imagined he could have them.

He even daydreamed occasionally. He always thought that humans were fools to daydream like that, wasting their time. But now he didn't even know how hours would pass with him just thinking about his mate.

Now just ten 5 meters were left. Beneath were few sharp rocks and few waves splashing here and there.

Long Lei jerked and a force came in him, suddenly jerking him upwards.

And then, something seemed to have changed.

His eyes glowed, the azure shade looking ethereal on his face. Wings grew on his back, stretching outwards. They were black in color, proudly taking the area like the owners of everything.

Scales started appearing on his skin.

His black jeans instead of tearing, suddenly changed their texture. His legs and jeans merged into one another.

Long Lei's jeans were actually his skin itself. Since dragons could change forms into humans and back, their powerful skin was stretchable as well. Since clothes would usually get torn, they would simply turn their skin to clothes and also use the magic to change color.

Although, dragons were also quite used to clothes. Evolving with humans, they had adopted themselves to various changes and didn't feel different from them. Skin clothes were usually used when they were needed.

Slowly, the human form vanished and what remained was a beautiful beast, a Dragon.

It was black colored and had many star-like colors on it. It could perfectly camouflage in the dark, not detected even by the strongest of instruments.

The beast let out a loud roar and flew like an arrow towards the horizon.

The sun was about to rise.

At the horizon, he suddenly flew up, straight towards the sky. Round and round, he flew up. When he was at a height of 200 metres, he turned around and launched himself down, increasing his speed more and more.

A loud splash was heard. Waves moved chaotically here and there, finally dispersing after a long time.

In the cliff, up above through the window, Long Parents looked at Long Lei who had disappeared into the water. Long Father did not have an angry expression. Instead, he was smiling faintly.

"Let's prepare gifts for the children." He looked at his wife who smiled like an angel at him. Her eyes glowed like always, looking mischievously at him.

He let her make fun of him.

Few minutes later, they then looked at each other and then at the rising Sun on the Horizon.

They hope their children can always be happy.

It's unclear what fate has for them.
