Family of Havoc 4

"How did you contact us?!" 

"I found a strange gem with one of the pris- on a criminal."

"Zane, be honest."

"Why do you catch me so easily… We got attacked but we defeated them and I got a strange gem from one of them."

"Attacked?!"

"I can't explain everything right now but I'll send you files about what has happened all this time."

They talked for a few more minutes before the screen went blank. 

Glowing eyes looked at Zane. 

"Did you ask where they got it from?" 

"Not yet."

When Ella heard this, she rushed to the place where the intruders were being kept. 

She walked to the person which Zane had taken the gem from. 

"My brother must have taken a gem from you, yes?" 

The girl was scared by the terrifying aura that Ella was spewing. 

"Y-yes."

"Where did you get it from?" 

The girl gulped. 

"You know who we are, don't you?" 

"Y-y-yes."

The girl was more nervous than before. 

"You know we can find ways to threaten you."

The girl turned pale and quietly listened. 

"Tell me and there won't be any punishments to you and your comrades." 

"Our boss gives the gem out to the best squad from each district."

"Who is the true person behind this?" 

"Azrael…" 

"You'll be free after a few hours."

All the people behind the bars looked happy and grateful. 

… 

"Well, Noah will send some beasts to look for more of the gem."

"Ah! I almost forgot, what about the pact?" 

"We can do that tomorrow." 

"I'm hungry and tired."

"Same here."

Everyone looked at me and Nova. 

We both sighed and started to cook dinner.

"We're going to do the pact before going to the sanctuary again." 

"Pact?" 

"You'll be taught about pacts in more detail in the academy but the pact we're going to do is the master and disciple pact." 

"We have a special place to make pacts so come."

Walking up to a stone platform with colourful elemental auras surrounding it. 

There was a red square paired with an orange square and there were seven more squares all paired up with another seven. 

We walked on the squares first and birds of many sizes flew near the colorful trees and started chirping. 

The auras became thicker and purer which made the place foggy. 

"Close your eyes and you'll walk to the square of where your master will be."

… 

The birds went away and the fog went away as well. 

I didn't expect anyone to be connected to me since my ability wasn't something you can learn unless you have a similar ability. 

"Aren't you the vampire kid?" 

"The girl with animals!" 

"Even though you probably know my name since I know yours too, let's introduce ourselves."

"I'm Damien." 

"I'm Noah."

Suddenly a scroll appeared in front of us. 

"There should be a blank area for your signature." 

"I don't have a signature…"

"Just place your palm then."

"What is this even?" 

"The pact."

"What are these for?"

He pointed at the list of what I receive and what he receives.

"To make sure that I won't become lazy and neither will you, making a future proof pact is always good."

He nodded and checked the list of what he receives and placed his palm on the blank space.

The scroll vanished and we see that the others were also done.

"Let's all go to the sanctuary this time."

Me and Demeter were gonna whistled for three flyers larger than last time but Ella and Nova stopped us. 

"What?" 

Then she hands me a badge. 

The badge was a peacock with rainbow feathers and a black crest. 

"No."

"Please?" 

"Why do you want them?"

Ella was thinking for a moment then Ben spoke. 

"I think it would be fun."

"Four of us agree."

Zane had a smug smile. 

"Wait what? Four?" 

"I agree with Ella and Nova's idea."

Demeter and I looked helplessly at each other and finally agreed.

I cast a spell and twenty badges with beasts on them appear with everyone each having three on their palms except me and Demeter. 

I look at the four badges for a while until I hear a bark. 

I see a small pup and a wolf with spikey black fur barking at each other. 

"Oh no."

I snap my fingers and they turn their attention to me.

"Stop it now."

Both whined but stopped. 

I turn my head to Ella.

"Ella, the sanctuary is pretty far. Blackie will be too slow."

"But Noah! Blackie can phantom swift!"

"Do you remember the first time you phantom swifted with blackie?"

"Well, uhm."

"If you are going to ride with one of the kids, I don't think you want blood, puke and a screaming child."

"But we can try to just run!"

"Since you're so persistent, fine."

While Ella was celebrating, I chose a badge and put away the rest. I poured some mana into it and then left it on the ground. 

A few seconds later, the mana forms into a beast. 

Head of ram, body of a lion and wings of a bird. 

"Long time no see, Leo."

I pat Leo on the head then I see a small fiery bird with three legs, it was flying towards Leo and landed on top Leo's head. 

The bird becomes larger and larger while pecking Leo. 

Leo was tired of the pecking and the moment I looked away, I saw a bird on the ground with paws pinning its wings. 

"Ben, take Apollo before he becomes food."

"Apollo, stop annoying Leo."

Ben took Apollo away to scold him and I gave Leo "some pats. 

"Can I pet him?"

Just when I started to become happy, the spawns of hell had to remind me that I have a disciple. 

"Ask him, not me."

Leo nudged his head towards Damien.

"Is that a yes?"

"Probably."

Then I hear a loud "Oh!" Which scared the sh*t out of me.

"What?!"

"I almost forgot to say this, since you guys weren't here."

Demeter was looking back at the beasts who were looking at her.

"The kids around you are.. I guess your young masters or something? All you need to know is that they are our students."

Leo, who was looking at Demeter, quickly looked back at Damien.

Although Leo wasn't giving Damien glares or anything, a disdainful look was the best way to explain.

Leo looked at me and looked like an abandoned puppy.

"No, he's still coming."

He looked extremely sad and glared at Damien who was confused.

"Let's get going everyone!"

I hop on Leo's back and see Damien hesitate.

"You won't fall, don't worry."

"Okay!"

…

"Do you hate me?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"You don't seem to like me…"

"Beasts are easier to build boundaries with and I'm not particularly trying to get along with any non beast."

"Okay…"

He looked pretty down which reminds me of that time…

…

 "Diablo?"

"S-sis?"

"What's wrong?! Why are you crying?"

"Sis?..."

"Yes?"

"Do you hate me?"

"Of course not!" 

He smiled but I knew it was fake. 

"Is anyone bullying you?" 

"Ah… N-no." 

"Tell me the truth."

"Everything is fine!" 

"Okay then…" 

I walk out of the room to search for Demeter. 

… 

"Noah? Noah!" 

"Huh? What?" 

"Wake up from your dreamland."

I looked around and saw that we had arrived. 

"Are you okay?" 

"Yeah."

"Then let's go."

I was going to start following them but I suddenly felt an unfamiliar mana aura. 

It was coming towards me, so I turned around and quickly grabbed it. 

"Why are you here? Why do you suddenly have so much mana?"

It was the pup from the injured female beast. 

"Wait, This type of aura.. Phantom Illusion beast?" 

The pup nodded as if he understood what I said. 

"Then you can start living here."

The pup looked sad but accepted it. 

… 

"Did you guys choose yet?" 

They all nodded but when I looked at Damien's beast, it was the pup. 

"Do you really want him?" 

"Yes!" 

"Okay then."

"Are your communication devices working?" 

"Yes!" 

"Is everyone ready?!" 

We all said yes and we're starting to hop on our breasts. 

Leo was reluctant as always. 

"I wanted to ask, why do I have to have this thing?"

It looked like a fancy ornamental. 

"Every realm has different time laws, although our place isn't nearly as big as a realm and has less laws, it's time law is the slowest out of all realms and that "thing" has some of that time law to not make you age fast."

"Is that why you don't look like a grandma?"

"Yes, and this is why you are going to get hit on the head if you say anything about me being old again."
