Chapter 58

Leonardo was lightly humming a song while he walked along the strip of Las Vegas. While he was slightly tempted to enter a casino to play a bit. He just enjoyed his stroll seeing all the impressive lights and displays out front to attract others to play inside. He even saw quite a few nice looking women with enough implants to fill a doctor pocket for life.

Why is he strolling in such a place? Well, Clark ran off to track down a speedster who tends to pick pockets. While on the other hand, Leonardo light adventure spirit craved a small change in scenery. Besides school, the farm and the small town of Smallville. He hasn't really done much and hence decided to use the chance to stroll this famous strip.

After a while and getting his fill, Leonardo decided it was time to leave. Clark should have found his wayward speedster and probably got outrunned by him. Since unlike the speedster, he and Clark have to be extremely careful with their speed. The speed force allows the speedster to run at high speeds that would normally destroy the surroundings as long as the speedster is aware. Otherwise, when the speedster ran broken glass, ear drums and basically a man-made disaster occurs each time.

Picking up a small keychain amulet, something he recently got into the habit of doing when he visits somewhere new. Leonardo entered an empty alleyway and shot off into the sky. Where he headed off back to Smallville and remembered it was time for Clark to learn to fly. He has put it off long enough.

Touching down, Leonardo enters the Kent house where only Jonathan remained since Martha took off for her shift at the Talon and Clark is off with the speedster. So taking a seat where Jonathan was working on a machine part more for something to do then actually needing to.

"I thought Clark tuned up your motorcycle last week." Leonardo asked.

"He did." Jonathan replied with a slightly annoyed expression. "That's the issue too."

"Doesn't it run fine?" Leonardo asked.

"Leo, the motorcycle is a Harley, not a damn crotch rocket." Jonathan sighed.

"Do you want me to fix it? I could improve it more than Clark can." Leonardo offered the older man.

"Then what am I supposed to do? You and Clark basically have the farm work covered and what you don't have, that Kelex has covered." Jonathan huffed.

Kelex is an assistant robot that Leonardo made up at the Fortress of Solitude after studying them for a while. They were highly used on Krypton since it like having google, facetime and a secretary in one. Not to mention Kelex is able to read animals and human health hence the cattle on the farm is in better health than ever before.

"Sorry about that. I was just bored lately and felt it was a waste to leave Kelex at the Forretress." Leonardo apologizes for basically retiring Jonathan from farming lately.

"It's fine. The sudden free time gave me time to learn and figure things out." Jonathan waved it off. "I decided to expand the farm and look into improving the farm. Times are changing and the few tractors out there aren't cutting it if we need to make a living."

"Well, if you're expanding, look at the McNally Farm. They are in a rough stretch at the moment and it's just down the road." Leonardo shrugged. "Also could use some krypton technology to make automatic and better farming equipment. Ancient for Krypton but ahead of the times here by a few years at least."

"I will think about it." Jonathan neither agreed or disagreed.

Yet while he said this, Leonardo doubted Jonathan would since he isn't the type to buy others properties like a large business owner. Jonathan viewed such business owners similar to the Luthors who he hates with a passion. Hence, besides smaller business owners, he dislikes large business chains and such ideas of buying McNally farm falls under that ideals.

Which made Leonardo sigh since it was a bit silly in his opinion, but that was Jonathan's mind. So since that was the case, Leonardo wasn't going to pressure Jonathan into going against his beliefs or ideas. The man is very stubborn after all.

"Well, just think about it, since from what I heard after chatting with Jed, if his farm doesn't do better in the next few years. He will consider selling it to Lex who showed a bit of interest in buying it." Leonardo added as he stood up.

Jonathan just lightly paused before he went back to working on the part before him. He didn't say much after that, while Leonardo went about his own business. Which was just writing another book to send off to the editors and publishers to be reviewed. Something both editors and publishers both loved and hated due to how many manuscripts he sent off.

Due to his speed and various ideas, which when he adds on his super speed and thinking where he writes down the entire plot and storyline in a notepad. Leonardo tends to pump out story after story when he is motivated or inspired. While many of his books aren't selling as big as Twilight he released a few years ago. They aren't collecting dust either, hence his and the channels his books go through are making a nice profit from them all.

--

While he finished up his latest novel that was more sci-fiction for it was a mix between Guardian of the Galaxy and Hitchhiker through the Galaxy. A book he felt was decent, but wasn't really something he fancied. Hence, he couldn't get a read on the book and guess how well it would do.

'Well, I will just send it off to be reviewed by the editor. If they don't like it then they will just send it back.' Leonardo thought to himself.

In the past he did have a few such incidents and it wasn't anything rare. Most of the time it was to make small adjustments to the plot or expanding potential ideas. Hence a few books he only really had one book in mind for turned into two, three or more. Hence, his name is slightly well known for bouncing between genres and themes. Not to mention how many books and how fast he sends books to be published.

After sending it off through an email. Leonardo stepped outside his room, where he found a face he hadn't seen before eating at the counter. Jonathan was watching something on the news, when Clark came walking through the door in a hurry.

"Dad, I found the kid who stole your wallet, but I lost him down at the docks. He just took off across the water."

"Uh, son." Jonathan gave a quick glance to the kitchen counter.

"Hey, Clark, what took you so long?"

"You lost him on the water? You could have just followed, it's not like you would sink if you moved with superspeed." Leonardo slightly stretched. "Better yet, you could just…you know…fly."

"I haven't tried it so I didn't know." Clark grumbled. "Besides, I can't fly yet."

Leonardo just shrugged before he turned his attention to the teen snacking on his blueberry muffins. An unforgivable sin in his eyes as they were special muffins, Aurora gifted him yesterday after stopping by semi-secretly.

"These muffins suck."

Both Jonathan and Clark slowly turned to the teen who continued to eat the muffins despite saying that.

"Bart." Clark said slowly, grabbing the boy's attention.

"Yeah?"

"You might want to run." Jonathan said as his eyes shifted to Leonardo.

Less than a moment later two figures vanished from the kitchen and were five states over by the time Clark located them with super hearing. Though they were traveling quickly as Bart tried his hardest to lose Leonardo who was hot on his trail.

"Is Bart ok? He is a little misguided but not a bad kid." Jonathan asked, a bit worried.

"He is fine. He will be a little bruised after Leonardo catches him, but he should be fine." Clark replied. "They are down in Mexico now."

"Well, he did have a fast pair of sneakers." Jonathan laughed lightly.

Thanks for Reading.
