Forest Accident

After saying those words of hope he went into a deep slumber in order to restore his mana. By the time he woke up, it was already the next day. The morning breeze was gently blowing his long blue hair. He slowly opened his eyelids, waking up with a stunning view of the sea in front of him. He lets out a big yawn as he gets up and stretches his arms and back a little. As he was finishing his stretching he could feel a growl coming from his stomach.

"Oh, my stomach. I should go find a nearby village. The only problem is that I am poor...Not a damn penny in me. Hmm..."

Akihiko has never been in such a situation. He was used to a life of luxury, without caring for any consequences. But now it's different, he has to think for himself. His first priority being food, after that new clothes, and finally, shelter. He spots the two mushrooms that he duplicated yesterday and decides to pick them up. Eating them won't fill his stomach but it is still better than nothing, so he quickly eats them before heading to the forest. Leaving the ruins and heading to the forest was the best choice he had. People say, if you see a river there will always be a village nearby if you follow it. And forests usually have rivers, so it's only logical.

He entered the forest and began wandering around. Finding a river was not that easy. He was climbing small hills and trees for over an hour, hurting himself when falling from some of the trees.

"Ouch! God damn it. A river should be around here somewhere come on!"

He was sure of it. How? He actually knows this forest quite well. His dad would come here with him very often, their old home was near this forest before it got destroyed. As he kept wandering more and more he finally finds it, the river. Fishes swimming freely, animals drinking it's water and the water having a glow-like reflection. It was so clean that one could see it's own reflection clearly. Akihiko kneeled down and splashed his face with some water. He then used the palm of his hands in order to drink some water. Drinking the water made him feel better, he wasn't dehydrated anymore. Turning to his right he could see that the river was heading that way. He got up and followed the flow of the river. Minutes pass by as he walked until suddenly he hears a cracking sound. It was like braking a stick in two, the type of sound that would make deer's run for their lives. Akihiko looks around and spots a stick that is a little bigger than his head in length. He picks it up and then picks up a rock. Trying to stay silent, Akihiko carves the stick with his rock, making it into a spear.

"This shall do fine as a weapon I assume. Now, clone."

The spear suddenly duplicates into 2 sharp pencil-like spear's. He holds one in each hand, preparing for what is about to come.

"Come out! I am not scared of you, i got two spears i can take you just fine!"

Silence.

Nothing but silence. Akihiko starts to sweat, scared of what is behind these bushes. Behind him another crack is heard. Akihiko turns around fast.

"..."

Akihiko nervously steps in closer.

"Show yourself now!"

Suddenly a bear jumps from the bushes. It jumps surprisingly high considering the fact that Akihiko is above average height and the bear was above him.

"AAHHH-"

The bear swung his claws at Akihiko, making a bruise on his right cheek. Akihiko jumps back, trying to distance himself from the bear.

"Damn that hurt. Hey I'm warning you! Come near me and you are done."

The bear stays silent and takes little steps. Akihiko manages to go to the other side of the river, making the river be a border between the two of them. The bear continues to stare at Akihiko with dead eyes. It's like he wants to feed off him. Akihiko nervously looks around his terrain and realizes that if he wants to continue he has to win this fight. Akihiko focuses one spear at the bear.

"Come at me, bitch!"

The bear gets mad and rushes at Akihiko, he jumps the river and pulls at his claws, facing Akihiko and preparing to rip his face off. Akihiko dodges it by swinging to the left then he sticks one spear at the bear's eye as deep as possible. The bear screams in pure agony, the pain is unbearable. The bear tries to ignore the pain and stands on it's feet. From Akihiko's point of view it's like staring at a giant orc. He starts to sweat massively, his heart beating fast and his whole body shaking. As the bear closes it's distance with Akihiko, it jumps towards him. Akihiko lowers his body and then strikes the second spear into the bear's heart. Blood showering him like rain during a stormy night.

"..."

The bear's movements slows down and then it completely dies. Akihiko moves his body away from the bear and let's the body collapse on the grass. Akihiko takes a few deep breathes. He has never been in a real fight before but he used to watch people train with swords back when he was younger and he remembered some of the techniques they used.

"Observing guards fighting paid off I guess. This was one heck of a beast though."

He picks the two spears off the bears body and continues his journey to find a village. As he walks around more and more he picks up a few mushrooms on his way. At last he sees an exit from the forest. He runs towards it and brushes some branches off the trees in order for him to move easily through them. Escaping the forest was done and just as he raised his head he saw it, a village. A not so small village. The saying for the river was correct. He could see crops, shops, a church and even a guild hall called "Adventure Hunters".

"Finally, a village! Time to earn some money."

With excitement, Akihiko ran towards the village.
