Chapter 7 : Creston's new home

Helen left the hospital, while leaving, she noticed that everywhere was wrecked. Those dudes and the dogs wrecked the hospital.

Helen got outside and surprisingly didn't see any police or emergency personnels.

How strange.. Helen thought. It didn't even matter. Right now, she had to get to safety.

She ran aimlessly under the hot afternoon sun. Passerbys couldn't help but look at her like she was crazy. A lady wearing patients clothes and running with a baby in her arms.

Just when people thought that was crazy enough, Helen started yelling, "run!, run! They're coming. A bunch of wild dogs are on the loose. Run!"

Okay, this lady is definitely crazy.

Helen got into a car that was parked at the side of the road and found a man at the driver's seat.

"Where are we off to, ma'am?" The man politely asked. This was a taxi, Okay, cool.

Meanwhile, the hefty men and the dogs were coming after Creston. The biggest one which seemed to be the leader spoke, "let's transform, we'll be faster that way." His colleagues nodded and then, their red eyes shone brightly, sharp fangs grew out of their mouths, they now had long, sharp claws and six blood red eyes and were now dogs. They looked terribly hideous.

One of them now in their dog form started sniffing, checking if he catch her scent. Once he caught it, he led the way while the others followed.

Helen was in the taxi, when Creston started to cry, she sensed that something was wrong.

"Take me far away from this place, anywhere, Now! Step on it!". She shouted at the driver who now had a confused look on his face.

The dogs, no, demons were getting closer. Helen yelled, "Just Go!" With that, the driver zoomed the car. While going, oh no, they got stuck in traffic, this allowed the demon dogs to catch up and just in time, the road was free again allowing the driver to zoom past creating a reasonable amount of space between themselves and the dogs.

They had been driving for about thirty minutes now, they were now in the forest areas. He was driving really fast when suddenly, a deer ran into the road and this driver was a 'protector of nature' and in attempt to dodge it, he lost control of the car and it ran into a tree. The car broke down, the dogs were about 20metres away from them and the gap was quickly closing.

"I'm so sorry, let me go check". The driver apologized but Helen didn't have time for that and as he came down, Helen did the same and started running into the forest.

"Hey! my money?! where's my money?!" The driver was angry.

Did this man not know that he's in danger. Helen thought within herself. She ignored him and continued running aimlessly into the forest. The demon dogs were on her tail but she kept on running.

This was too much for a woman who just put to bed.

She ran and ran till she ran into the cottage and fainted.

The dogs couldn't get in because when they got to the cottage they were greeted with a very unpleasant smell. It got them crazy so they ran away.

Once they got back, the lead dogs turned back to humans. They looked crazy handsome. They reported what happened to their Lord, who immediately thought that they were cowards for running away because of a damn scent !

When they tried to explain, the Lord, Bolta snapped his fingers and the full grown men suddenly fell down and couldn't get up. It was almost as if a strong gravitational push was being exerted on them.

"M- my Lord, please show mercy-" he trailed off. "Silence!" Bolta was furious and they felt the force intensify. "You three are just bags of excuses". "Find a way to get me my heir!" After saying that, he released the men and they bowed to show respect as the Lord left the throne room.

They came back to attack Creston and his mother two weeks later. And you know the rest.

* * * * * Twelve years later* * * * * *

In a busy store that looked like a bakery, a plump lady was attending to her customers. She was selling Cakes, cookies, bread, and every kind of pastry. A teenage girl with Carmel brown hair reaching her back and a pair of glasses resting on her nose, sat at one of the tables, doing her homework. A boy with blonde hair and red eyes sitting across her, playing a game on his phone which was quite disturbing to the girl.

"Hey, Creston could you keep it down, I'm trying to solve this equation".

"Oh, I'm sorry lady Einstein. I would never again interrupt your studies". Creston answered.

"Would you quit being dumb and go read a book or something." The girl shot back.

The plump lady just finished attending to a guy with a baby girl in his arm.

"Mcelle, Creston! Would you two stop fighting and help me out!. It's Saturday, so there's a lot to do, now make yourselves useful and help me attend to these customers, I've got a cake to deliver and I'm late". The plump lady walked into the kitchen.

"We're coming, Mom !" Mcelle yelled.

This was Creston's family. The plump lady was his new mom or just his mom because Creston doesn't know where he actually came from. He had been living with these people all his life and only Gobert, his dad knows his origin. When he brought Creston home, Mc'elle was only four. He told his wife and child that Creston is a surprise child he adopted. He said Creston is a gift and they had always wanted a second child so he adopted Creston.

Mc'elle always felt that something was wrong with Creston. Since the very day he came, he had had all the attention leaving her unnoticed and turning him to a big time brat.

Mc'elle didn't like him at all.
