Weird light played about the room, greenish flashes scattering. Hunter cringed as he heard gurgling, choking noises, heavy breathing, the incomprehensible sound of something wet slapping against flesh.
“Please, please, please…” Hunter whispered, the words a litany.
There was a pause. Silence. Darkness…absolute. Hunter lay back against his sweat-soaked pillow, gasping. Eyes bulging and icy flesh conversely soaked with sweat, he waited for more, staring into the darkness. It was almost too still. There was no sound, not even the wind that had shrieked through the house only moments before.
