Game On

Seeing how Alex took off without warning, the others took off as well, following the direction he took. When they got there, they saw him standing next to two dead monsters.

"We've got two," he said to them.

"That was fast. How did you do it?" A student asked him.

"It's a secret," he replied to the person.

"Tsk! What speed? Anyone can pull it off," the boy scoffed.

Alex simply glanced at him and then looked away. "How do we store the monsters?" He asked them.

"How about we put them inside this," Finn suggested and showed them the bag he was carrying with him. "It's a spatial object for storing many things except for living things," he explained

"Wow, that's some cool stuff you've got there," exclaimed the same student who had spoken to Alex.

Finn smiled and handed the bag to Alex who didn't collect it immediately.

"Why are you giving it to me?" He asked the boy.

"To me, you are the only one capable of holding it well. I'm sure it'll be safe in your hands," Finn replied with a smile.

"I have no interest in carrying anything. Give it to someone else or better still, carry it yourself. The bag is yours," Alex replied to him and made to walk away but the other students chipped in.

"He's right, Alex," a girl with glasses said to him. "We kind of think that this stuff will be safer in your hands than ours. Why don't you just do it?" She said with a pleading face.

Alex turned, gazed at her, and then scoffed. "Hold on, what do you take me for? A fool or something?" He asked her, not just her but the others. "I am here for something more important and reasonable and not for some monster game. If you can not carry it yourself, then leave it here!" He said and walked away with Raphael beside him.

As he left, some of the students hissed in anger because they didn't like how Alex had treated them.

"Who the hell does he think he is? Acting all high and mighty," one of them derided him.

"It's just carrying a bag, right? What's so difficult in doing so?" Another asked with a frown.

Tired from listening to their rants, Finn sighed and picked up the bag. "It's not difficult, right? Why don't any of you carry the bag, huh?" He asked them with a frown. "Instead of looking for someone to blame for your incapabilities, I advise you to caution yourselves and avoid him," he added and walked away with the bag behind him.

Soon, he rejoined Alex and Raphael who simply ignored his presence like he wasn't there.

"Hey, don't be mute, at least say something," He urged them but none of them still said a word. "How about you? Can't you talk?" He asked again, but this time he was referring to Raphael.

"Die," Raphael muttered and the boy froze immediately, dropped the bag he was carrying, and held his neck. His eyes turned red with tears in them as he began to gasp for air.

Seeing this, Alex glanced at Raphael who frowned noticing the look on his face.

"Release," he mumbled again and the boy stopped gasping for air and released his grip on his neck.

"Not everyone is in the mood for jokes like you," Alex told him and then began to go again.

As they left, the boy suddenly smiled but his smile was brief so no one noticed him. "Hey, wait up!" He yelled after a fake cough and ran after them with the bag behind him.

After they had walked for a while, they came to a place crowded with thick fog and before they knew what was happening, they suddenly were surrounded by some weird lizard-like monsters.

"Hold on, I know these monsters," Finn told them. "They are poisonous despite their small sizes, we should be careful not to touch them—"

"Die!" Raphael muttered before the boy could finish his explanation.

The boy looked ahead and saw all the lizard-like monsters abruptly dropping dead on the ground but after they all died, they had expected the fogs to clear because they thought the monsters were the cause of it but even after they had all died, the fogs remained.

"I think something else is the cause of this endless fog, and look, it's coming from there," Finn said pointing in one direction. "Should we go check it out?" He asked them.

"Yes," Alex replied. Even without being told, he would still go and check it out because he was curious about everything — that was his nature right from little.

"Then let me pack these monsters before the others see them and claim ownership," Finn said and began to stuff the dead monsters inside his bag.

Watching him, Alex got curious. "It doesn't seem to get filled up, does it have limitless space?" He asked the boy.

"Yes. It can contain anything you want except for things that are still alive," Finn replied.

"What about a house?" Alex curiously asked again.

"Anything at all," Finn replied and then stood up as he was done stuffing the monsters inside the bag. "And look, it's not even heavy — it doesn't get heavy," he added and smiled proudly.

"I see. Let's head on then," Alex mumbled and began to walk in the direction of the fog. He led the way while Raphael was walking behind him, and then Finn trailed behind them. When they got close to the place, Finn began to show some strange reactions.

The bag he was carrying dropped from his shoulders and he staggered and fell to his knees with his hand on his head.

"Check him out," Alex said to Raphael who nodded and went over to Finn. As Raphael was about to check on him, he fainted that instant. Alex's brows knitted because he had no idea what was going on. "Could it be as a result of the fog?" He asked Raphael.

"But we aren't affected by it," Raphael replied after looking around. "I wonder why the teachers aren't here," he noted.

It was now that Alex also noticed that Derek, Kelvin, and Colt weren't with them. "Look!" He suddenly said to Raphael. "Do you still remember the route we took?" He asked with a confused look on his face.

"The fog has covered the whole place," Raphael replied and then placed Finn on the ground before standing to his feet. "I think there is something in the fog that causes one to sleep," he said to Alex who glanced at him.

"But we weren't affected," Alex said but just then, they heard some footsteps and they glanced at each other and hid behind the tree there.

"Do you think the poison worked?" They heard someone ask.
