An Aqrabuamelu

"Alright everyone, our training today is going to test your instincts, strength and wit." Professor Thrawn, the old drus said and took his notepad.

"I'm grouping you in six." He said, looking around. "You know you're a group already, so run along." He said us, waving his hand towards the arena.

We walked out of the gym, but instead of going to the arena, we went to the thicket.

"Is he gone?" I asked Jake. " He's left with the others. I doubt if he'll notice we're gone." Jake said and flew down.

"Alright, guys, let's begin. Any ideas on where to start?" Crystal asked and Jake smirked.

"The archives." He said and Luna nodded. "We'll meet you guys on land." Nathan said and he and Xavier took off.

Luna grasped Crystal's hands and they took off, leaving I and Jake.

"How are we...?" I started and Jake grabbed me like he was cradling a baby and flew up. It felt nice to be that high in the sky, but when I looked at where we were headed , I frowned.

At first, I thought I imagined it, but then I realised I wasn't; Jake was flying in the wrong direction.

"Uhm....Jake...the archives are that way. Where are we going?" I inquired and looked into his sea blue eyes.

"The colliery." He said.

"The colliery? You said the archives." I stated.

"I lied to them so we could spend some quality time together. Plus, I noticed the colliery was closed due to an accident. An accident The Council won't reveal. So, it's best if we check it out." He replied coolly, like it wasn't bad that he just lied to his girlfriend and best friends in the world.

"Together?" I asked mildly.

"Yeah." He said, flying faster. "Together".

"Where are Sam and Jake?" Luna asked, looking around one last time.

"Maybe they got lost... I'm sure they'd be here soon enough." Nathan said reassuringly and Xavier only nodded.

"Let's just start searching." Crystal said and looked at Luna. Luna picked up a hairpin from her medium length blonde hair and handed it over to Crystal. She quickly unlocked the door and they all walked in.

Jake landed smoothly and dropped me on my feet.

"Let's go in." He said and I followed him into the colliery. We were breaking a crucial rule- one given by The Council at that. But what did it matter? We were breaking a rule for bailing out on training anyway, and we were surely gonna get in trouble.

It was quiet and dark, so I had to use a fireball, a piece of cloth I found lying around and a stick to make a flame torch.

"So, what exactly are we looking for?" I asked and Jake looked at me.

"Clues."

"Clues?"

"Yeah, clues. You know; like inscriptions on the wall, dark passages, stuff like that." He replied with a smirk.

We walked for a while before getting to a fork. There were two dark, hollow caves, one leading to our end, and the other, probably leading to what we were looking for.

"Which way?" Jake asked and I thought. Suddenly, we heard a faint growl coming from the cave on the right.

"Left!" We snapped at the same time and chuckled as we walked in.

"See anything?" I asked and Jake nodded disappointedly, and that was when I noticed a dim light peeking from the end of the tunnel.

"Come on." I said and Jake quickened his pace. Just as quickly, the light went off following a loud thud.

We took a left turn, and right in front of us, was an Aqrabuamelu.

"Well, well, well, look who we have here." He said and eyed me with an evil smirk.

"Do I know you?" I asked and felt a surge of excitement run down my spine. It was gonna be a fight...a dangerous one for sure, considering the fact that an Aqrabuamelu like him, came from The Mephistophelian Realm.

The big question was, 'How did he get into the Transcendent Realm from Mephistophelian Realm?'. The gate was sealed after the battle between Lord Kakó and my dad(as you already know). His presence was obviously a clue.

"Sam, wait." Jake whispered, gently grabbing my wrist. "We're not fighting this guy. Let's just find out what he wants." He added and I sighed.

"Who are you? And why are you here?" I asked and he began to laugh.

"I am Brinte. I was sent to get you, Sam." Great, the freak knows my name. "So, just come with me and this won't get rough. Trust me."

"Yeah, right. Not without a fight." I said, tightening my fist. "I can't believe you're making me do this." Jake mumbled in defeat.

I launched myself at Brinte, planting a clean, yet, painful roundhouse kick on his bare chest. Out of sheer frustration, he grabbed my leg right before it touched the ground and flung me into a wall. I hit my back on the wall and fell with a loud thud.

Jake threw a punch at Brinte, who grabbed his fist, but right before Brinte could make any sudden moves, Jake kicked him in the groin and he fell. I placed the blade of Eridaph few metres away from Brinte's neck, and he began to laugh.

[What a psycho], I thought.

"I'm surprised. I expected more from a demigoddess and a Cyptar." Brinte said, moving the blade away from his neck. "We're not giving up yet, Brinte. You ready for round two?" I asked with a smirk.

"With pleasure." He said and launched his stinger at me. I dodged it, and punched him in the face.

Jake leaped up and launched himself at Brinte with two daggers in his hands, but Brinte hit him with his tail. Jake hit his head on the wall and fell with a thud.

Brinte punched me in the gut over and over, threw me up, and hit me with his tail. I crashed into another wall and fell to the floor.

He laughed and aimed his stinger at me, and right before it hit me, I used Eridaph to block the attack.

"You should've just come with me to avoid all this." He said and instantly began to fade away. "No! Not now!" He muttered. "I'll be back, Sam. I'll be back." He said and faded away.

"Are you okay?" I asked Jake and stood up. "Yeah. We'll continue some other time." He said and I helped him up.

We walked out, and he flew me back to the little tree house.
