Of course Olivia would never reject a request from Noah and would have gotten the water for him herself if he had asked her to. So, she glared at the maid to tell her to quickly get Noah what he had requested for before laughing at Noah and saying, "No of course not dear Noah. Like I told Laila before as well, Mi Casa est Su Casa and my staff is your staff. You can ask the to do whatever you want and use as much of their time as you need to."
By now the maid had run off to do what she had been asked tot do but this sudden disruption of their tour had caused Olivia to notice that Laila was missing from the group. Up until now she had been too busy with Noah to notice if Laila was or wasn't around but not seeing her now made her guard come up again and she began to feel suspicious. She looked around before she turned to Noah for answers. "Where is Laila?"
Fortunately for the both of them, Noah's sudden call out had also served as a warning for Laila to hurry things up. So, just as Olivia asked this question, Laila came out of the room looking surprised. "Oh there you guys are. I was just admiring one of the beautiful paintings in your room and when I turned around you two were gone. Here I was thinking you were my friend but you just leave me behind as soon as there is someone else to keep you company. If I didn't know any better I would think you are more interested in my husband than me."
Laila tried to shift the blame to Olivia. Pretending it wasn't her stalling in a room she wasn't supposed to be in anymore but Olivia not noticing she hadn't followed them in leaving the room. Since Olivia had indeed neglected her the moment Noah stepped through the door, Laila hoped that she would find this reason believable. If not, then hopefully Steve's editing of the footage would be convincing enough to sell her lie.
Luckily Olivia had not completely carried out her plans either. So, hearing Laila's jokingly spoken accusations she felt a need to dismiss those accusations and get rid of any suspicion Laila might have. Not knowing that Laila already knew all there was to know about that aspect of plans. With an awkward smile Olivia said, "No, of course not. Don't be silly. I am just being a good host and keeping my guests company. I can't be keeping an eye on you the entire time. I have to talk a little to Noah as well, don't you think? How else am I supposed to become friends with your husband if we don't spend any of our time talking with each other? Now hurry up and let's head into the last room so we can finish this tour."
In her head Laila was saying, "Yeah right, 'friends'" but on the outside she was all smiles as she walked up to the two of them. But now that Olivia was done denying Laila's accusations, she was ready to lay down some accusations and insults of her own. Once Laila had caught up with them she said, "I am sure poor Noah must be tired after all this walking and talking right after he returned from work. The poor man just stopped a maid in her steps to get a glass of water, that is how thirsty he is, yet you as his wife did not say or offer him anything."
Immediately Laila felt irked. Somehow Olivia knew how to pick the words that would annoy her the most and she had been successful in doing so this time as well. Having held back so much this day, Laila could no longer hold her tongue and decided to strike back with as much restraint as she could show.
With a forced smile Laila said, "Is that so. Well that proves he is capable of asking for something he wants himself doesn't it? No need for his wife to ask his questions for him. If he is thirsty he will tell you so. If he is hungry he will let you know by himself as well. He didn't become the head of a successful company without speaking his mind. So, I as his wife trust him to do the same outside of the office and I am sure that if he is displeased about that, he is more than capable of telling me that himself. The bond between a husband and wife is hard to understand for an outsider. Especially one that isn't married themselves."
Olivia of course understood what Laila meant with these words and more importantly who she was aiming her daggers at. She was far from pleased by her words but decided to laugh them off. "Oh please Laila, no need to get so jealous. I was only showing some concern for dear Noah. Nothing more." With Noah present she did not want to show any of her bad sides and ripping Laila a new one for showing so much cheek, would harm her more in the long run than it would give her satisfaction at this moment. But she would certainly get even. All she needed to was wait for the perfect moment.
Well the last day of this week has arrived and although I haven't been able to write as much as I had hoped, I am definitely working on an upspree for today but maybe a part of the 5-7 chapters I said will come tomorrow.
But for now, here are the chapters that I was supposed to release for today and I will get started on the chapters for the upspree.
