A decision to change a lifetime

Everyone has that one decision, that one moment in their lives that they think back to from time to time and wonder what could have been if they had made a different choice a different decision. A point in time they wish they could go back to. After saving a stranger, Laila has been offered a chance to do just that. Laila has nothing she could want from an outsiders perspective. She lives in a big mansion, with a handsome husband and two beautiful children but in reality her life is far from perfect and she couldn't remember the last time she was truly happy. So, if she was offered a chance to change that, shouldn't she take it? How crazy and unbelievable that chance might seem? This story is indeed in a way a rebirth story but it isn't your typical rebirth story. It is one where the second male lead actually gets the girl. So, if you have ever screamed at your screen over yet another female lead picking the horrible first male lead over the second just because he has realized the error of his ways and therefore all he has done in the past should be forgiven and forgotten, well then search no farther as this is the story for you! Join me in the first week of May as we start this story of how a single decision can determine a lifetime or change it! Until then, feel free to look at my just completed novel A devil's match :D

His long awaited chance

After Laila and Jake broke up. Noah took his place in her life and spent as much time as he could with her. Time she normally spent with Jake or dealing with something he had said or done. During that time, Noah slowly tried to cross the boundary of friendship and enter the one of romance. Not only tried but it felt like he had almost succeeded. At a certain point during their back and forth of banter, Laila even said, "Why didn't I ever realize that you aren't just a good friend but a great guy all together. I should stop going after guys like Jake and find someone like you instead." She said these words while staring into his eyes and didn't turn away after saying them. While they were all alone in his room and as the tension was rising, Noah decided to go in for a kiss...

His face was inching closer, while hers remained perfectly in place. His heart was pounding as his green eyes were staring into her beautiful hazel ones. He could see his reflection in the shimmer that adorned her almond shaped eyes and he could see his nervousness reflected in them as well. Just as his hand was placed on the side of her soft cheek and his face was crossing the final inch of space that was between them, he was suddenly stopped before his lips could touch Laila's. The person who had disturbed his long awaited chance, was none other than his own mom, who had entered his room to ask if Laila would be staying for dinner.

The moment that happened, Laila shot up straight and pretended like nothing had been going on. She was looking in all directions as if she had never seen his room before, as he begrudgingly answered his mom's question while shouting out every curse word in the book in his mind. After that, Laila quickly got up and they awkwardly went downstairs. Just like that, the moment they had, was broken. But because of that moment they had shared, he knew that he had an actual shot. He knew that Laila liked him too and that she had finally begun to see him as a man and not just a friend. All he needed now, was a moment to confess, and then they could finally be together. But sadly, their romance wouldn't get past a first date because there was more than one determined guy in the game and one of them wasn't waiting for a good moment. He was someone who simply created his own and would grab what he had come for.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a few short weeks since Laila and Jake's breakup and the start of her budding romance with Noah. Without calling it by its name, Noah had finally found the courage to ask Laila out on a date after things had been going great between them for the past two weeks. Both of them were feeling a bit nervous as they headed into town to spend the entire day together. Noah had it all planned out and he told himself that he would first get her in a good mood with their regular games and activities. Then they would enjoy a nice dinner together and they would end the day at the town carnival, where they would enter the Ferris wheel. Once they reached the top, he would ask her to be his girlfriend. It sounded perfect and he thought that it would be a sure fire thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At first it indeed seemed that Noah's extensive planning hadn't been in vain. The day had been going great and everything he had been worried about, seemed to have been for nothing. They had been laughing from the very beginning and any and all awkwardness had disappeared just minutes into their date. They had just finished dinner and were about to head to the carnival, where Noah planned to put his final plan in motion in order to confess his feelings to Laila and ask her to be his girlfriend. But Just when they were about to head into the crowd of people that had gathered for the carnival, they ran into Jake.

Immediately Noah's heart sank to his stomach. He couldn't believe his luck. He had planned everything out perfectly and he had taken all possible factors into account. Sudden rain, her not feeling well or wanting to go home early. He had even prepared the jokes he would crack if there was indeed some tension at the start of their date. But this was one factor he hadn't calculated into his date plan. He didn't think that his date would be stopped prematurely by the appearance of a rival. He didn't think his plans would be interrupted by the guy he thought was finally out of the picture. The guy he couldn't compete with.

Laila seemed equally surprised to run into Jake here as Noah was. But while Noah was looking for a way to escape from the situation, in order to stop Jake from ruining his long awaited chance at becoming Laila's boyfriend, Laila was frozen to the spot. As she stared in Jake's direction, he was walking in their direction with long, determined strides.

Here we are with chapter number 4 and I will do my best to publish a fifth chapter later tonight!
