A decision to change a lifetime

Everyone has that one decision, that one moment in their lives that they think back to from time to time and wonder what could have been if they had made a different choice a different decision. A point in time they wish they could go back to. After saving a stranger, Laila has been offered a chance to do just that. Laila has nothing she could want from an outsiders perspective. She lives in a big mansion, with a handsome husband and two beautiful children but in reality her life is far from perfect and she couldn't remember the last time she was truly happy. So, if she was offered a chance to change that, shouldn't she take it? How crazy and unbelievable that chance might seem? This story is indeed in a way a rebirth story but it isn't your typical rebirth story. It is one where the second male lead actually gets the girl. So, if you have ever screamed at your screen over yet another female lead picking the horrible first male lead over the second just because he has realized the error of his ways and therefore all he has done in the past should be forgiven and forgotten, well then search no farther as this is the story for you! Join me in the first week of May as we start this story of how a single decision can determine a lifetime or change it! Until then, feel free to look at my just completed novel A devil's match :D

Dealt with accordingly

When Noah arrived at the office he called in Steve. On the way over he had asked his assistant to buy him some breakfast and when he got to his desk the food was ready and waiting for him. Though it didn't beat the food he had at home, the food from their cafeteria was well prepared and was something he quite enjoyed eating. This was no coincidence. After all, he had been the one to hire the chef that prepared the food because he wanted his employees to eat good food at work.

Though the food wasn't free, it wasn't far from it. Fulltime employees got a seventy percent discount and part-time employees ate there with fifty percent discount. Most of the profits came from outside people who came to their cafeteria for lunch or an early dinner. The reason behind this was because employees who eat well, tend to be more happy and healthy, which reflects in productivity and employee satisfaction. Employee satisfaction means that many other people want to work for them as well and they could pick from the best of the best.

Noah had taken his first bite of the sandwich his assistant had prepared for him, when Steve knocked on the door and walked in. With his hands in his pockets and a cheeky smile on his face he said, "You rang for me, Mr. secret boss?" Noah rolled his eyes as he finished chewing the bite of food he had in his mouth. "Not you too. Haven't I been bullied enough for today?" This remark made Steve's smile grow even wider as he said, "Oh? Did the missus not treat you well? I figured that you were so late because she gave you a nice surprise but I guess there was no such luck for you this morning. If you weren't so possessive of her, I could have messaged her and coordinated our bullying. That way if she already made your day a bit more miserable, I no longer have to."

Noah simply responded by saying, "Not in this lifetime. I will keep a flirtatious bastard like you away from her as long as I have air in my lungs.", before taking another bite. Steve chuckled and said, "Duly noted. Once you run out of air, I can have Laila all to myself. I shall await the day." Without giving Noah time to react, Steve followed his words up with, "But you called me here to discuss something import I assume. Not to inform me when I can expect Laila to become available."

Noah continued to chew his food while glaring at Steve as menacingly as he could. Though he wanted to wrangle his neck, even if it was for just a bit, Steve was right in that there were more important matters for them to discuss instead of wasting more time on silly matters like this. Once he food was swallowed he placed what remained of his sandwich to the side and focused on the two important matters at hand.

"The reason I called you to my office, is because there is someone here who is telling my private matters to Olivia."

Steve looked a bit surprised. "Olivia? The pretty, blond woman who is friends with Laila?"

"Laila told me that she can't be trusted and that she apparently has plans of drugging and seducing me in order to coerce me in breaking up with Laila. She is also the one working with that other person I have had you look into. Apparently if she doesn't manage to seduce me with or without drugging me, she plans to destroy me with his help. If she succeeds, she plans on giving him part of the business."

Steve was shocked. "I knew you said that this was something serious and it was important for me to discover the identity of this secret backer but I didn't know it was that serious. Women sure are scary. They look so kind and sweet but they can do such evil things while smiling in your face."

Noah couldn't help but say, "Yes. It is a wonder a player like you has managed to stay alive until now."

Steve gasped. "How dare you?! I am not a player. I just like to flirt a little but that is all harmless, innocent fun. I have never entered a relationship with someone I wasn't serious about."

Though Noah knew that Steve wasn't a bad guy but since Laila planned on setting him up with Maria, he needed to make sure that he would treat her right.

"As for Olivia, lately she has been able to time her leave with my arrival to the minute. Since I am hardly a person who comes and leaves at a set time, it can only mean she has found some way to know when I will be coming home. I want you to try fishing for this mole and handle it."

Steve nodded and responded with just one word, "Understood." From his expression it was clear he was serious about this task. He might like joking around with Noah but when it came to work matters, he was dead serious. Especially when it came to protecting Noah or the company. Olivia had now become a person who was a threat to both. Noah was his closest friend and he would do anything to prevent him from getting hurt. So anyone who posed a threat, would be dealt with accordingly.

Hello my dear readers, however many of you may be out there, I am terribly sorry for the delay. With the crazy amount of guests here over the past few days and them not leaving until 5 am, I hardly had any chance to write.

Even writing and publishing the chapters for wednesday and friday were quite hard in between everything else. But I at least forced myself to finish up two chapters for today and I will put out the remaining three chapters tomorrow.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that everyone is still healthy and safe. I wish you all a great start of your week and until tomorrow!
