Found Family

Nanami ended up teaching you too. You were right about not being talented enough or not having high potential. But, Nanami was a good teacher. You managed to make cursed energy flow properly within your body a few months later. You had started strengthening your body with cursed energy , it was a slow process of learning but Nanami didn't make you feel useless. Instead, he encouraged you.

Normally, Nanami would only come on Saturdays but later, he started coming on both days unless something came up. This routine quickly became something relaxing for him. He was starting to feel like he belonged to this small family of two.

Hiroki also started to consider Nanami as his family. You had a good impression on Nanami and sometimes, you wished you met him instead of Gojo years ago. But, then again, you wouldn't have Hiroki if things were different. Things were rough and you had a long road ahead but you didn't regret giving birth to Hiroki. Not once.

--------------

Two years had passed since you first met Nanami and now Hiroki was six. You and Hiroki were still training with Nanami as usual but Nanami started to drop by a lot more. Sometimes, he would pick Hiroki up from school and send him home. You had to work overtime these days so Nanami decided to help you out when he can.

Today, Nanami picked Hiroki up from school and sent him home. You managed to come home early today so you asked Nanami to stay over for dinner. It was the least you should do when Nanami had already helped you so much. You made some of his favorite dishes and brought them to the table.

While you were enjoying your dinner, Hiroki speaks up, "Today, Kota kun asked me if Nanami was my dad. Mom, Nanami san is so nice. Can I have him as my dad?"

"Cough..cough.."

You thought you were going to choke on your food as you coughed. Nanami on the other hand, was on the same boat as well. He didn't expect to hear this specific word at all.

"Hiroki, that's not how it works." You said, your cheeks turning red in embarrassment.

"Then, how does it work?" He asked innocently and you were at a loss of words again.

"The point is... you don't look like me and you obviously don't look like Nanami san. You see, umm...you're supposed to look like your parents." You tried to persuade Hiroki without answering how it works. How were you supposed to answer that anyway?

Nanami had an awkward expression on his face, he was not displeased but just not sure what to do at this point.

Because somehow, he didn't hate the idea of being a parent figure to little Hiroki at all.

-----------------

Nanami didn't expect to run into his white-haired senpai from Jujutsu Tech at a cafe like this. It was far from the school and this type of cafe with minimalistic design was not the type of cafe Gojo Satoru liked to go. He had mentioned a couple of times during his school years that he liked to go to cafes with cutesy decorations and delicious sweets.

"Nanamin!" The man was wearing casual clothes and sunglasses instead of his uniform and blindfold. He waved his hands happily but all Nanami could think was how annoying he was being. And how the man now resembled little Hiroki. His chest tightened and had to look away for a second.

"Gojo san, I didn't expect to see you here." He said with a tired look on his face. He didn't want to deal with this.

"Me neither! But why aren't you happy to see me? I mean I was your favorite senpai!" Gojo dramatically said in his usual loud manner.

"It's because I'm not happy to see you." Nanami said rather bluntly. It was true that didn't want to see the man at all.

"So cold!"

"Maybe being a salaryman is not working out for you after all. I mean look at those eyebags! Why don't you just come back?" Gojo continued.

"Absolutely not." Nanami declined the offer. Even though he had started teaching little Hiroki and you about Jujutsu, he didn't want to go back to being a sorcerer just yet. Maybe he would go back if Hiroki was going to get thrown into Jujutsu world, but then again, he would have to tell Gojo san about all this so he probably won't need to involve personally at that point.

The thought was supposed to be somewhat comforting, yet, Nanami disliked it so much.

The man had never been there in their lives, so why should he get the privilege to stay in their life later?

But, Gojo Satoru can protect them. Nanami reminded himself. The fact that he didn't want Gojo to come into your lives was just being irrational.

Yet, he found himself hating the idea so much.

He disliked the man when he kept annoying him even after declining his offer to go back to being a Jujutsu sorcerer. He also disliked that he just hummed and walked out casually like nothing was bothering him, like he was carefree.

Because how could he live that way without knowing anything?

He wondered how Gojo Satoru would react if he knew about little Hiroki.

Not that he actually wanted him to know but he wondered what his reaction would be.

At least, protect them if little Hiroki was to be in danger.

Nanami thought as he looked at Gojo leaving the cafe without a care.
