They arrived at the family residence 30 minutes later.

The butler greeted them and directly brought them to the office.

Mark sat behind the big mahogany desk. The place was luxurious and with the way Mark raised his chin, he looked really arrogant, like a villain in a movie. He looked better than yesterday since he had calmed down a little. His wife sat on one of the sofas in front of the desk.

"What makes you come so late?" Mark grumbled as soon as he saw Luca and Irene figure. It seems like the man was not fully settled with last night's incident.

"We need to fix some problems in the castle," Irene answered randomly as she and Luca then took a seat in the sofas, joining Bridgette.

Irene knew that it would fuel the man's anger if she said Ayana was late for breakfast and Luca wanted to wait for her for a bit. She wanted to talk with Mark as calmly as possible, although she knew it would be hard since their topic was about Ayana.

"Whatever," Mark said in annoyance. Irene sighed in relief when she saw that Mark didn't probe further.

"Father, I actually have a proposal for a plan," Luca didn't beat around the bush and said directly. Mark frowned as he looked at his son. Is this his son's new trick to run from his scolds?

Luca pretended not to notice his father's irritating mood. Irene paused for a second when she heard Luca's voice.

Luca then told his old man about the plan that he had told Irene inside the car. Mark's face was getting uglier any second as he heard his son plan. He was ready to explode any moment.

"Over my dead body," Mark smashed the table as he finally exploded. He could not hear this anymore. His son seducing the lowly human? His face was getting red from anger as he glared at his son.

"You need to cool your head first, Mark," Irene told him.

He was not willing to let his high and mighty descendant seduce the lowly human. Not a chance.

The best place for those lowly humans was under their shoes. The girl should be elated since she could breathe the same air as Luca and could be Luca's wife for two years. She should be the one begging for Luca's attention, not the other way around.

He only agreed to the marriage since he knew that Luca would keep his distance from Ayana. If he knew this would happen, He would not let them marry.

Mark could not imagine how people looked at him when they knew that Luca was seducing a mere human. His shattered pride from his son's marriage was still fresh, and now his son wanted to seduce the girl? 

"You need to listen first, father. You will like what I said next," Luca said confidently.

"I will never like anything that comes to your mouth regarding the human girl!" Mark decided.

"Are you sure? If we succeed, we will really bring up District 2 to another level. Our family would get many benefits from this and maybe your name as the head of Winter family will be remembered in history after this," Luca said with confidence in his voice.

Mark blinked as he looked at his son.

The look on Luca's face started to crumble his resolve. His defense finally crumbled when he remembered Luca's ability. His son is the youngest general in District 2. He has a long list of achievements and his plan rarely fails. 

"If you don't want to hear it, then let's just forget this. I will never say anything about this anymore since this topic displeases you so much," Luca sighed, pretending to give up.

"Tell us about your plan then. I will consider it after I listen to it. But if you can't convince me, you can remove every crazy plan regarding that lowly human from your head." Mark quickly said with a cold tone.

Irene realized that the man had changed his mind the moment she heard Mark's tone. He might seem like he would reject him and Luca has no chance to change his mind at all, but Irene knew something for sure. Mark never rejected any chance to raise his name. 

"Father, do you know who Ayana's biological father is?" Luca asked.

The moment Luca mentioned it, Mark's face became uglier.

Oh, dear, Irene sighed. These are taboo words in Mark's book and also the reason convincing Mark to agree on the marriage became so hard.

"Why should I know one of the criminals who got kicked out from Zone A? her father is even lower than any lowly human out there, disgusting!" Mark said with a scornful tone.

He was getting angry when he remembered that the girl had a shameful background.

"Her father is Matthew Cannon, the Canara researcher who has a lot of discoveries on Canara," Luca said casually as he looked at his father.

Mark froze for a moment before turning his head to Luca.
