"What is wrong with you?" Jules asked her friend after their delicious and enjoyable dinner. Well, at least she and the rest of the party seemed to have a good time.
Nonetheless, she noticed her friend might be smiling, but she still detected brewing anxiety hidden deep in her eyes.
"Can we just talk for a second?" Thalia asked her, whispering so only she could hear. "I mean, just the two of us."
She knew that Thalia, just like her, kicked it off to a good start with their new friend, Jessica. Therefore, she could only assume that the problem had to be with the men. Most specifically, their other guest.
She knew the tension between the two from the very start. But it was more palpable tonight when they arrived almost simultaneously but in separate cars.
