Silence the Dark

And with the foul blow, the little girl was slaughtered. There were no screams, no struggle, no chance for resistance. It was not a sought after death, not painless or sudden. The little girl saw, what she could only describe as a monster, snake towards her. She felt the lethal cut of its now crimson talons slice through her body. The fear filled her innocent frame in a second. There was nothing that could have changed the little girl's fate.

Except from her older sister that is. The one who let the beast free. The one who watched with a sickening grin as her dear little sister was murdered by the very thing she had once feared. The older sister walked quietly over to the creature which was crouched over the girl's body. It tilted its head back at a vile angle to look at the older sister. She simply smiled at it like a long lost family member and congratulated it on the kill. "Well done my dear, you have done me proud" those were her only words spoken as she stroked the thin fur which covered its bony body.

The delicate white dress which she wore was slowly staining red at the hem as the cold blood leaked from her sister's mangled body. She motioned for the monster to leave and it did so with a scraping of talons along the cold stone floor. She walked around her sister so she was standing next to her head, crouching, she touched her face with her small hand.

It wasn't in a kind, calming way you might treat your child. It was in a way a lion might hold its kill. Her nails dug into the cheek of the little girl, drawing blood which was no longer warm with the innocence of the child. Her hand pushed the girl's head back as the other hand grasped for a chain which hung around her neck. She did not bother to wipe the blood off of the silver necklace as she attached it around her own neck. It hung between her collar bones, ending in a teardrop of diamond much like her younger sister's tears would have been if the kill wasn't swift. As she got up to leave, one of her bare feet landed on the girls hand with a crack of bone,

"Sorry about that sister," she exclaimed in a sing-song voice, " I didn't see you there." Pulling her foot away from the now broken hand, she skipped out of the dark room, out of the estate and into the mist of the eerie darkness.

Also you probably get this a lot but I would really appreciate constructive criticism or anything like that, I want to develop as a person and writer!
