6 Never's Love

Neverfire sighed as he stepped into the change room and started to undress. The conference today was just too draining. It was nice to speak to many people who admired him for his book, but the tiredness had truly sunken in for him.

He loosely wrapped a towel around his waist after he finished undressing and put his belongings into a locker. The hosts really went all out for this conference by arranging guest accommodation in Hwa Xia's best 5-star hotel for tonight. As most of the guests were having dinner at the moment, it was the perfect time to soak in the hotel's open air hot spring before the crowd arrived.

As he walked through the sliding doors, he took in the beautiful view of the natural hot spring surrounded by greenery. There were protruding rock structures of varying sizes scattered within its waters and a thin layer of mist hung close to the surface creating a mystical feeling under the starry night sky.

The water was hot but not at an unbearable level as he slowly eased his entire body into the hot spring and closed his eyes.

Haa… this is life.

After a few slow breaths, he slowly opened his eyes again.

Suddenly, he caught the silhouette of a person hidden near a cluster of rocks in the far corner. As he slowly moved a little closer, he could make out the figure of a relatively tanned man leaning languidly against a rock with his body half submerged in water and his eyes closed.

Neverfire's heartbeat sped up a little as he recognized the person's face. Xi Munan.

The image of Munan's cheeky grin as they chatted earlier at the conference floated up in Neverfire's mind as he moved even closer before stopping at about an arm's length away.

A few droplets of water silently dripped down from Munan's black hair onto the side of his handsome face. He really was a very good-looking man…especially under the moonlight which enhanced his features and made him look like a god who descended upon the earth.

He watched as the droplets then trickled down his neck to his chest. Neverfire felt his cheeks heating up as his eyes took in that powerful toned chest and the well-defined muscles that showed the regulated training of a military man. The more he looked, the hotter his cheeks became until even the tips of his ears were tinged with color.

His eyes stopped at the waterline just below Munan's waist and for the first time felt a fire ignite within his body.

Shocked at his body's reaction, he quickly turned around and slapped his cheeks hard.

'What the heck is wrong with me?!'

Neverfire screamed internally and slapped himself a few more times to try and clear his mind. After a few deep breaths, he calmed down a bit and turned back to look at Munan.

As he turned around, his body stiffened and froze as he realized Munan's eyes were now open. His lips were curved up in a playful smile as his eyes twinkled with amusement.

"I knew you'd come here."

(To be continued… in your imagination)
