Chuck stared for moment and then blinked a few times.

'Although it doesn't seem like a combat class, things could be worse.'

Chuck noticed that ever since the dungeon core appeared, there was now a door that would let him leave the room. But first he decided to open his starting packs.

In his interface, he selected his inventory. Right now, there were only two items. The Newbie Starter Pack and the First Time selection pack.

He chose the Newbie Starter Pack with his mind.

[Newbie Starter Pack: Fry Cook (Burger Flipper) selected.]

[3 loaves of bread]

[2 gallons of water]

[1 Flimsy Spatula]

[1 Greasy apron]

[1 Fire starter kit]

[100 DP (Dungeon points)]

[Error! Error! Participant has received a starter pack that does not correspond to his class.]

[We apologize for the mistake; the appropriate starter pack will be swapped in now. To make up for this inconvenience please accept the Plus model of the starter pack]

Chuck's inventory changed, the old starter pack was removed and new one took its place. He selected it.

[Newbie Starter Pack+: Immortal Chef selected.]

[3 Loaves of bread +2 extra loaves of bread]

[2 gallons of water +1 extra gallon of water]

[1 Immortal spatula +1 Immortal Chef's knife]

[1 Immortal Chef's uniform +1 Immortal Chefs hat]

[1 portable oven/ four burner cook top]

[100 DP (Dungeon points)]

"Heh, heh, not bad." Chuck said as the items appeared before him.

The largest and most eye-catching piece was the oven with the cook top on top of it. He ran towards it and wanted to try it out but stopped just before he turned the knob. The information for the device appeared in his eyes.

To activate the burner and oven, it would consume 10 DP for every hour of use. And there would be no refund, even if he only used it for a few seconds. Instead of wiping out 10% of his wealth in one go, he decided to hold off for now.

Chuck then discarded his dingy gym clothes that he was wearing. (Please do not assume that Charles was at the gym working out because he was wearing gym clothes. No, they are the most comfortable clothes to wear when one sinks deeply into the couch.)

His new ensemble included a pair of non-slip, fire resistant black shoes. Fire resistant black pants. A moisture wicking undershirt and black form fitting coat that was also fire resistant. The pants and coat were tailored to perfection. The sleeves and legs didn't have any bit of bagginess to them. This way, they would not get caught on things or be in his way if he was moving about the kitchen quickly.

A red kerchief was tied around his neck to protect it from an oil splashes and the touch or red also looked good. The hat on his head, that covered his hair and kept it from failing into food, was of course fire resistant and colored black, but it did have a stripe of red as well.

A kitchen knife with a foot long blade was put into a sheath that hung on the right side of his belt. While the spatula was on his left. This spatula was not angled, but a 10 inch long rectangular piece of metal and was attached to a non-slip handle. The edges of the spatula were sharpened but not to the same degree as the kitchen.

Chuck put the oven, bread and water back into his inventory before he selected the First Time pack.

[First Time Selection Pack: Fry Cook (Burger Flipper) selected.]

[1 Book: The Basics of Burgers]

[1 Seasoning kit]

[1 Burger Station (Dungeon setup)]

[Error! Error! Participant has received a First Time pack that does not correspond to his class.]

[We apologize for the mistake; the appropriate starter pack will be swapped in now. To make up for this inconvenience please accept the Plus model of the First Time pack]

Chuck smirked and selected the new pack

[First Time Selection pack: Immortal Chef selected]

[1 Book: The Way of The Immortal Chef + Ingredient identification compendium]

[1 Immortal spice and seasoning kit + Spice and seasoning identification compendium]

[1 Small immortal kitchen (Dungeon setup) +Preservation and storage area (Dungeon Setup)]

Chuck picked up the book. As he opened the cover, the book turned into a white light and bored into his mind. He instantly felt like he had a limitless knowledge pertaining to food, ingredients, seasoning and spices. The only questions now were whether he would be able to put it into practice or not.

The spice and seasoning kit was quite large. Big enough to take up the space of a closet. It was quickly put away in his inventory.

The last item on the list confused Chuck for a bit. It was nowhere to be seen. Recalling that it was tagged with (Dungeon setup) he opened the dungeon tab in his interface.

He found several more tabs that were divided into different classifications of things he could buy. Monster spawners, traps, weapons and all sorts of items. All of it required DP. DP could reshape the dungeon, buy materials, changes the environment, and was used for pretty much everything. Inside the dungeon DP was the most important resource. He could gather DP every time a creature was slain inside his dungeon. The DP would correspond to the creature's strength and abilities. He could also slowly earn DP while creatures were inside his dungeon. Every hour he would receive a fraction of their overall value. The last way the dungeon could earn DP was at dawn. He would receive 1 point for every 10 square feet of dungeon space he controlled.

He quickly found a page related to his class in the dungeon tab. It contained various ingredients, equipment, recipes, and facilities. But every bit of it was ridiculously expensive. He then found the Small immortal kitchen facility. From seeing the prices of everything else he knew he struck it big.

He then poked around the other tabs in his interface. He looked at the equipment he was wearing but found that his level was too low to see any of the equipment's special effects.

Under the Class Upgrade tab, he found that after every five levels he would unlock and new skill or talent.

Lastly, he checked his own stats. They were as pitiful as he expected, but the good news was his top-level class added a multiplier. When he leveled up, he would get 10 times the points to distribute amongst his stats.

After having looked through the various tabs, Chuck decided it was time to leave the core room and see what his dungeon was like. It was easy to be excited since he didn't expect much. With no expectations of something awesome, he would be able to accept whatever lay on the other side of the door. He straightened his uniform and kept a hand on the handle of his knife just in case. Although his dungeon should be safe, who knows what is on the other side.

He walked to the door, and then stepped into his dungeon.
