Chapter 255: Mutiny

"Do we really need a new CEO?" Cao Wei didn't mind the looks he was getting. He continues, "We should have somebody that has the experience and knows the structure of our company. Don't you think the new CEO will ruin us?"

His words made the other board members nod their heads in agreement. Cao Wei smiles, "That's why I want to nominate myself as the new CEO."

The expression on Duan Huiling's face was ugly. 'So that's your plan.' With the company going downhill, Cao Wei is the only board member left of his generation.

There weren't any people that would be able to stop him.

However, Duan Huiling has something to say, "Mr. Cao, you cannot nominate yourself as the CEO. The CEO hasn't arrived yet. It would be unfair to pass judgment like that without him here." She knows if Cao Wei becomes the new CEO, the whole company will become worse than before.

And she wants to see if this new CEO will be able to save them.

However, Cao Wei didn't want to give it a chance, "Why shouldn't I? Did you realize what that useless runt did to the company's reputation? I had disagreed with making him the CEO, but that arrogant fool made that choice. Look at us now! For all we know, the new CEO could be worse than him.

That's why I nominate myself. I've been with this company for so long. The people respect me, and I'll run this company properly."

'Respect? More like you manipulated them.' Before Duan Huiling could say something to that, the door came crashing open.

Everybody turns to see who would be so rude to open the door like that. And when the board members saw who it was, they made a weird expression.

"It seems that everybody is here." That's the only thing Lu Chen said as he walked over to his seat, not minding the looks he was getting.

Sitting at the head, Lu Chen continues, "Well, as you guys have guessed, I'm the new CEO. Now let's get down to business."

"..." Get down to business? How can we get down to business when you drop such a bombshell?! Everybody in the room couldn't believe that such a young man would be their new CEO.

Even Duan Huiling was surprised that their new boss would be around her age.

On the other hand, Cao Wei laughs at this spectacle, "Aren't you a little too young to be a CEO?" To him, Lu Chen is a baby? It was nothing more than a joke.

"And?"

"I don't think you are qualified to take the position of CEO. A CEO should have the ability to lead us and produce results. But from what I see, you don't have any of that." Cao Wei didn't want to work under somebody younger than him.

Remembering how the old CEO told him to work under his son, Cao Wei couldn't stand it. Why should somebody like him work under a snotty brat? It was too humiliating.

And with how old Lu Chen looked, he was nothing more than an inexperienced and arrogant child. Far worse than the old Ceo's child.

"The board members decided that I should be the one to be the new CEO. Please understand this. And don't worry, you can stay as a board member. We will need new blood like you to take over once we retire." Cao Wei laughs. Despite his "kind" words, there was pressure coming out with them.

Pressure that would make young and inexperienced people shudder.

"..." With Lu Chen's silence, Cao Wei thought he won. However, Lu Chen looks over to Duan Huiling, "You're my secretary, right?"

"Yeah." Duan Huiling was caught off guard.

She thought Cao Wei's words would hit him hard. She didn't expect she would get called by him.

Lu Chen points at Cao Wei, "Give him his month's paycheck and call security to take him away."

"..." Pure silence fills the room as they didn't think their new boss would be this aloof! Like Cao Wei's words didn't mean anything to him.

Cao Wei's expression turns red as he shouts, "What right do you have to fire me?!" He's been with the company for so many years. Now a snotty upstart thinks he could throw him out?

"I'm the CEO. I can fire whoever I want."
