“Stop frowning. Everything is going to be fine. I’ll protect you.”
Dillon beamed at Riordan. His boyfriend knew him too well.
“Thanks, and I’ll do the same to you.”
“I know.”
After that, they spent the remainder of the journey in companionable silence. Dillon was content to simply enjoy the ride while staring out the window at the other vehicles, the pedestrians who were running around on their way to work or some other destinations, and the multiple buildings on both sides of the road. Before he knew it, he and Riordan arrived outside Darby’s Bookshop. Darby greeted them with a hug each. Then Darby pointed at his bookshop.
“What do you think?”
