Just a Regular.

My name is Tsubasa Hanzou, your stereotypical 30-year old salaryman, a wage slave.

You may ask, why don't you quit? The trauma I had with my workers has robbed my will to quit, since they gave me a classic case of Stockholm.

But, the only special thing I have is the fact that I'm a boxer.

You could say I was a boxer.

When I was a kid, it was my dream, my life goal to be a champion in a boxing league. But, my dream couldn't be more than just a dream after all those efforts went in vain...

As I sat on my bed in my trash-filled apartment while staring unintentionally in nothingness for around 10 minutes or so.

I snapped out of it and focused on getting ready for work.

As I get ready for work, taking my usual cold shower, I think about the past achievements I have gotten in my life, did I even achieve something in the first place?

In the shower, I think about all these negative things, all while clenching my fists, and redness begins to form in my face as my anger and depression builds up like blocks.

I then brush my teeth, staring at myself, with lifeless eyes that seems like the endless void, accompanied by blackish eyebags that shows how sleep-deprived I am.

"I don't want to go to work..."

As I finally get ready to go to work, My hands tremble to open my door to see the monochromatic view of the outside, with the chilling winds, and the shining sun. Since my apartment was at the fourth floor of a seemingly adequate-sized apartment building.

When I noticed a paper in my mail, a paper that looks like it was been left there for around a month due to the dust and spider webs building up.

I take it, blew the paper to get rid of the dust and webs, and to see the contents clearly as well.

"Ah.. Shoot. I forgot to pay for my apartment bill. This bill is a month old."

But, little did I know, today was unusual than the rest, and it wasn't because I forgot to pay my rent.

I walk out of my apartment, went to the staircases and walked down the stairs with no energy to use.

As I finally reached to the landlord's place which was the first floor, I silently knock on his door.

Knock Knock.-- No response.

"Hello?"

As I muttered these words, I knock on his door a second time, this time, I knocked his door with much more strength.

Knock Knock...-- Still no response.

"Landlord.. Please open the door." I say with a deep voice, my morning voice specifically. But, it wasn't heard.

What the hell? Whenever I pay rent, the landlord usually responds to my knocks immediately...

As my mind was full of thoughts devoid of my awareness of my surroundings, I widen my eyes as I hurriedly looked at my right wrist to check the time on my watch. It was already 7:00am.

Hurry up.. I'm gonna be late for work..

"I'm barging in-"

This final time, I mustered up all the strength I had into my right foot, and knocked over the door with a wood-crushing kick.

!!!

Once I got inside the landlord's living room, I was greeted by a terrible smell. But I immediately reacted to the disgusting smell, and barfed a little.

The smell of rotting flesh, blood smeared on the wall as if we were in a mental asylum, and corpses that were teared apart.

"These corpses looked like it wasn't teared apart using a weapon.."

What in the world happened here? I say while remaining calm, since panicking would result in carelessness, and hypersensitivity. Which I had learned my lesson in my past days of being a boxer.

I walk in the landlord's bedroom, the scent was getting even stronger, leading me to think I was getting close to the root of the cause.

As I open the door of the landlord's bedroom, I saw something I didn't expect.

Rotten flesh once again, smeared blood stains on the wall, but there was one thing that was different compared to his living room and bedroom.

The landlord and some random middle-aged woman was on the bed. The landlord standing upright, eating the flesh of the middle-aged woman.

What the hell?

The landlord notices me, and I was in his field of view, immediately tried to bite me and is aggressive.

What? He looks similarly like.. A zombie.

I dodged the landlord's attempts to bite me, since his movements were clumsy.

I can't be bitten. Maybe I'll be like him once I get bitten.

Wait..! I forgot about work!

As I run away with the landlord chasing after my back, I hurriedly pick my pocket and get my phone.

The time was 7:15am, already. Time flies that fast?

But, I got a message. A rank 1 threat from Japan.

Coincidentally, at that moment when I checked my phone while I was running away from my landlord, a notification appeared at the top of my phone. [You have one unread message.]

It was a Rank 1 Threat from Japan, and the problem could be global if not taken care of.

It came from the government, so it should be real.

-Citizen, there are zombies occupying Japan, do not ever go in contact with a zombie, since you will become infected as well. Zombie infections has increased rapidly since the last 2 hours.

Don't get infected and stay safe.

What kind of B.S is..?

As I run around the apartment building, trying to find a spot to hide in, I unconsciously attracted even more zombies, which I could do nothing about it, and led me to the fourth floor.

I reach the rooftop in a matter of minutes, and I was sweating profusely and hyperventilating.

I see the breathtaking, monochromatic view one last time. I pulled the railing with my hands and lost hope, I had nowhere to go and I was in a dead-end.

The building in front of the apartment building was too far to leap on. I'm screwed.

The rooms below were too far below to jump on, and I would still get bitten even when I take my time trying to scale down the building.

I thought of another idea, and chose that as my last resort.

I silently stood on the railing, standing upright, looking down upon the ridiculous height I was about to jump off.

Yes, I was about to jump off four stories. That's how insane I am.

As a last resort, I jump off the building.

The fall breaks the bones of my legs, which made me unable to move, and made me vulnerable to open attacks.

The zombies around the street kept getting closer to me, which I met my fate by getting eaten.

Why didn't I live a leisurely life?

I don't wanna die! I still haven't got a girlfriend in my whole life! If only.. I had a chance of redeeming my life back..!

Tsubasa's consciousness fades after getting eaten, and now one of the mindless zombies wandering around in hordes.

But a miracle happened, after 2 days of Tsubasa mindlessly wandering around as a zombie in the streets of Tokyo, he regained his rationality. For some reason, Tsubasa's willpower was so strong, that the virus not able to withstand his willpower, and gained back his control of his body.

Well, the zombie virus is still in him though.

This sudden procedure gave Tsubasa a headache.

What's going on? I'm a zombie? How come the virus couldn't infiltrate my mind?

I have so many questions I have yet to answer, but let's focus on our surroundings.

As I was so focused on what was happening in my peripheral vision, I lost my focus in my central vision for a moment.

Then, just then, a blue screen popped up right in my central vision, which made me flinch.

Status window...? There's too much things going on.

Let's figure things out one by one.
