Once we reached the outskirt of the city , instead of driving in the direction of his home , Joshua made a different turn and drove into a fairly new route for me .

Gabby and Aurora , who were travelling with Elijah , must have felt it weird too , as both of them texted in our group chat , with Gabby asking , "Issy , is there some sort of itinerary that we missed out ?" and Aurora wrote , "Aren't we going straight to Joshua's house? "

Joshua must have understood my confusion , as he chuckled and said , " Relax Issy , we're just taking a detour to my dad's place . He wanted to officially welcome you to our family with a big feast and everything , but ours is a special case , so instead , he wants us to stop there for dinner at his place tonight . He has already informed John to arrange the dinner for all of us , and Erin and Richard are there too , helping him arrange everything ."
