Chapter 44

I stood there in a daze, not knowing what to do after Joshua left when Aurora and Gabby came and started teasing me.

"So, Joshua and Issy, sitting in the room, ki-ss-ing",Gabby started pulling my legs like a five year old kid.

I rolled my eyes at her but I couldn't help but blush as flashes of Joshua kissing me came back to my mind.

"I approve of him Issy",Gabby said excitedly and Aurora grinned happily and added,"I approve too. Now tell us, are you guys together?"

"To be honest, I really don't know what we are. I mean, he kissed me and said that he likes me.. I mean, I like him too, but ...its complicated",I started telling them, not sure of what I wanted or what it was that my heart really wanted to do.

Between Roy and Joshua, of course Joshua was the better man, but with I was pregnant with Roy's child and if that wasn't complicated enough , Joshua worked together with his ex, who looked like a supermodel.

It was a complete mess, but I couldn't explain it to them as they would think that I was thinking too much.

"Issy, don't think too much about all of these. For now, live the moment and bask in the love or like or whatever it is between you and Joshua and see where it goes",Gabby said, sounding very much unlike her, but it was a very good advice, one which I needed.

"Thanks Gabby, I guess I need to do that. I've been thinking too much about everything and its only stressed me out, but nothing good has come out of it",I replied to her and that was true, as lately, all I had been doing was stress over things that had happened and would probably happen.

"No matter what, we're on your side so do what your heart tells you to",Aurora added and Gabby chimed in for a group hug, and hugged us both.

So, there we were, the three of us, embraced in a group hug, when our doorbell rang, Aurora went to get the door.

"Leo, what are you doing here?",I asked as soon as I saw him come in behind Aurora.

"Hey Ace, its good to see you too",he said and I smiled at him.

"Obviously, it is always good to see you, but seeing you here in the city..., and just how did you find our apartment?",I asked him and Aurora smiled sheepishly.

"About that, I gave him the directions",she shrugged and Gabby and I looked at each other, and eyed them suspociously.

"Are you guys not hiding some things from us?",Gabby spoke what was running on my mind as well.

"Aurora and I"...."Leo and I",they both said at the same time and I understood what was going on between them, and so did Gabby.

"Poor me, I'm the only one left without a partner",she sighed and I had to remind her about Mark or whoever that guy was.

"What about that guy, what was his name? Mark?",I reminded him and she rolled her eyes as she replied,"He's just a friend who was confused about his feelings for me. He must have already found someone else, once he knew that I wasn't interested",she replied nonchalantly and I could only nod my head, not wanting to tell her that she might've been the one to push him away.

"Gabby, let's go prepare something for dinner",I said to Gabby and called her to the kitchen to give the two love birds some space as they apparently needed to spend some alone time together.

"Ok ok, first it was you and Joshua and now its Leo and Aurora,hmph",she said grumbling as she came to the kitchen, and Leo, who heard her grumbling said, "Joshua and Issy?"

I heard Aurora tell him to keep his voice down, but I knew Leo would ask me about it later and I didn't know what to say about that. Were we together now?

After dinner, Gabby left for her room and I went to my own room as well, leaving Aurora and Leo in the kitchen to do the dishes. My back was already killing me, and so I decided to lie down to rest.

My phone beeped with an incoming message and I checked it to see Joshua sending me a message which read,"Don't forget to take the tonic I gave you last time"

I smiled to myself as I texted him back,"Aye aye doctor".

He texted me back a smile emoji and I smiled thinking of him and his cute smile. I didn't send any reply back and left my phone on the nightstand, deciding to not think about too far into the future and just live in the moment.

Another beep sounded in my phone, and thinking that it was Joshua again, I quickly took back my phone,still smiling hopelessly, only to see that it was a message from Roy.

I opened the message which read,"Issy, I still love you and want you alone. I'll be responsible for you and the baby"

I tried reading it over again, but it still showed the same message. What did Roy mean by saying that he would be responsible for me?

I texted him back, furiously typing in my response,"Roy, I won't stop you from being a part of my baby's life, but I don't need you to be responsible for me, or for the baby."

He texted back immediately but I didn't bother to read his message, and left my phone in silent, and rested my back on a pillow and lied down to rest.

I drifted off to sleep sometime later and didn't wake up until next morning, to see my notifications flooded with messages, two from Roy and five from an unknown number,who identified herself as Alyssa.

"Great start of the day",I thought to myself as I opened and read the messages, one by one.
