“May I help you, Duke Garnet?” She gives me a polite smile.
There’s a strange tightness in my chest.
A part of me is terribly anxious over the thought that the woman before me might not be my daughter.
What if there is another force at play? What if I was wrong and there is a third soul that has been mixed up?
What if the person inside the lady in front of me wasn’t my daughter at all.
Still, I came here to know for sure. I came to get my daughter.
“... Rosanna?” I called out, anxious.
“...” she doesn’t react at first, but then she tilted her head, her smile still the same. “Excuse me? I’m sorry but I don’t understand. My name is Lillian.”
“I took the [All Seeing Eye]. I know that it’s you in there, and the person inside your body is the true Lady Opal.”
It’s a bald-faced lie, but it’s enough to fool my daughter who has never taken an interest in the history of the Empire, or even towards the history of our own house.
