The mind and what's left of it

Now then seeing as how I'm unable to use any physical energy such as Ki, Chi, Prana, etc I'm going to have to lean into my strengths. This of course being mental energy and magic, yes you heard right magic. The Fallen have traveled across existence and have discovered all kinds of energies and discoveries, mana or magic being one of them.

However, the magic I can use is only so limited. This is due to the fact that the Knowledge of the Fallen gave me schematics for magic, but the fuel which is mana is something that doesn't exist in this universe. There's a fix in this that the Fallen were working on and I can probably complete it since it's mostly done. So for now, no fire balls of mass destruction.

*Sigh*

On the plus side I found out that I have a form of telekinesis whenever I enforce my will into other things. I found this out when I tried to use powers on the debris and the robots, it looked as though a dark light was enveloping the object and I could move as I wished. I threw it out the window and I I felt it go around 120 metres in the sky before falling and crashing at a nearby injector, surprising the nearby Gems that went to check what happened. I then spoke to Pearl.

"Looks as though random pieces of space debris have entered the atmosphere. Hopefully it doesn't happen often, right Pearl?" I ask in a completely deserved innocent face

"Pffft-ah- ye-yes my Diamond. Hopefully it doesn't occur too often, Bu-but who knows what will happen when?" She is surprised by my shamelessness and attempts to play it off with a smile in my support, probably in an attempt to stop laughing. Clever girl.

Using telekinesis on myself and Pearl I levitated us off the ground and flew up a dozen meters off the ground before resting in a position as though I'm on a beach chair and crossing my arms and putting my right hand below my chin. I think as I watch Pearl flail and move about in disorientation and attempts to swim as shown by her Reef memories.

She is just too adorable.

As I float and think I attempt to see what I can do for my magic problem. I can do some inner magic since I can use the power and mental energy within myself as a catalyst to create the spell. Kinda like magecraft and the root. Wait a second! Speaking of using the power within myself, do I have a storage or personal dimension?

The dimension within Lion's mane was a result of Pink's power and Steven created his own space through Lars. Also Pearl stored things and memories within her gem so do all Gem's have this power. I then turned my attention to Pearl to ask and it wasn't too hard seeing how she was trying and failing to move away from my head. As I turned my head I could see directly into her eyes, ignoring her blush, I asked.

"Pearl, do you have some method of using your Gem as storage?"

"Yes my Diamond."

She didn't stutter, nice to see that the mental adjustment worked and I can still see her blush.

"How would you access it?"

"Well I just concentrate my energy on my gem and try to send it all inside in order to store something and to access it I do the same but instead think about the object in question and attempt to pull it out."

Seems simple and that's probably how Gems take out their weapons as well. Steven probably had trouble doing it because he was half human. For Gems their existence is the consciousness in their gems while Steven's consciousness was outside of it in his brain. I nodded my head and closed my eyes.

I lowered us to the ground and had the Pebbles make a bed for me to lay down on and informed Pearl of my instructions. I then focused my attention on the diamond in my chest and used my will the same way I would use it for telekinesis. As I did so I felt a gentle shift in pressure as my gem slowly devoured the light around it and became black.

I opened my eyes and found myself on a vast, seemingly endless open grassland similar to that of a Lion's mane. Or it would have been if not for three glaring differences. Firstly, instead of a grassy hill with a tree on it that was used for storage, I just saw an area full of rocks and hard soil that was surrounded by grass. Secondly, instead of pink, the tall grass was a shade of grey.

And lastly instead of a vast open sky I saw a massive slab of dead land that seemed to expand farther than the eye could see, full of bluish white lights of varying intensities and a pure white castle-like structure that floated in the middle of the two pieces of land. It looks like the Heavenly castle from "I want to live happily because I got the heavenly castle" manga except with no distinction.

There were no windows or decorations, almost as if it was carved out of white stone and was abandoned when the details were about to be put on it.

Ok then let's recap what I know. I'm in my Gem that holds my consciousness and the energy that makes my being. If Pearl from the shows was any distinction, this is my brain and there are multiple layers and sections to it. The land in the sky is most likely the planetary consciousness that I devoured and the blue lights on it may be souls that originated from it.

The white castle is most likely the Black Diamond Library and it's in the middle of the two sides since I took the energy from my Gem to make it in order to house outside sources of knowledge.

I'm curious about the lights since they don't seem to be moving or conscious so could it be a remnant of the Fallen species? Why were some lights weaker or stronger than others? I mean some look like the sun while others just seem like mist. I feel like I can control them, so using my will I pull in a light the size of the orb and have it float in front of me.

Now then what should I do? The lights might be souls, but I can't get rid of them since they are part of my consciousness. While they may not be alive I don't want something unknown inside of me, especially so close. So with that in mind I just grit my teeth and stretch my hand out and touch the orb.
