Protect & Survive(4)

(Forest - 7:00 AM) 

Although it was morning, the clouds still covered the sky. Amelia slowly woke up from her sleep and rubbed her eyes, she looked around but saw Rodeo was not here. She then gets up and picks up her assault rifle and SAR9X pistol with silencer. 

She noticed that Rodeo's weapons were not here meaning he must have taken them. She exits the cave and finds the grassy ground wet due to the rain, but the clouds were still there and it didn't rain. She looks around and spots Rodeo carving something on one of the trees. She also saw that four of the trees had a bullseye carved on them. 

She approaches him and says, "Good morning, Rodeo."

Rodeo finishes the carving and looks at her, "Morning, Dr. Amelia. 

"So what's with the bullseye carving?"

"These will be the targets we will use for our training. Come on."

Rodeo and Amelia walk a couple of meters away from the targets. 

Rodeo then stops, "Ok, welcome to 'Pull the trigger 101'. I'll teach you the ways of how to use a gun. For example, your assault rifle is called an M4A1, and then your pistol is called an SAR9X pistol. 

"Alright."

"Good, now the m4a1 is a perfect rifle for both mid and long range and can fire at full auto, which means you can spray the bullets or in simple terms fire all bullets rapidly. I'll show you."

Rodeo then uses his M4A1, holds the trigger and shoots the ground and it keeps on firing as the bullets keep spraying, then he stops holding the trigger. 

"This is what I mean. Also since our weapons have silencer barrels they won't make too much noise which will be perfect for us if we need to be stealthy. Any questions?"

"Yes I do. Were you or your family member a soldier back in your world, since you seem to have quite the knowledge about firearms."

"First of all, no I'm not a soldier in my world nor are any of my family members. Second, I have knowledge regarding firearms from video games and YouTube weapon demonstration videos."

"...You're joking, right?"

"No I'm not."

"So this is your first time using a gun?"

"Yes, but don't worry everything I'm telling you is accurate. So let's continue with our training. You see those bullseyes I carved?"

"Yes, I can see them as clear as day, Rodeo."

"Good. Now I need you to use your rifle and fire from the hip at the targets."

"Fire from the hip?"

Rodeo takes his M4A1 and positions himself in a way to show how to fire from the hip.

"See like this. Now you try it."

Amelia did just that and she was now in the correct position to fire from the hip.

"Now fire at the targets until you empty the whole magazine."

Amelia nods and then pulls the trigger and is shaken a bit by the recoil. The bullets hit most of the targets, but hit the ground and other trees as well since she was firing from the hip. She continued to shoot until the magazine becomes empty.

"See when you fire from the hip, you spray bullets everywhere just like you did right now." Rodeo said pointing to the targets.

"I see."

"Now if you need to hit a target perfectly you must aim deliberately down your sights." Rodeo said pointing to the scope attachment on his M4A1.

Rodeo then demonstrates by looking through the scope, "You see how I'm looking through the scope right now, that means I'm aiming down my sights. But you need to do it from a stable stance, which is by crouching down."

Rodeo then crouches down then aims down his sights, and hits the targets accurately and it only took a few seconds. He then pulls out the empty magazine, puts a fresh one into the rifle and cocks it.

"Well that worked." He then looks at Amelia, "Now you do it."

Amelia nods and removes the empty magazine then puts a new magazine into the rifle and cocks it just like Rodeo did. She then crouches down then aims down her sights and much like Rodeo hits the targets accurately without a problem.

"Good job, Amelia. Now I'll talk about the SAR9X pistol. It's perfect for close range and mid. Now I need you to switch to your pistol."

Amelia puts away the rifle and brings out the pistol. 

"Now switch to the rifle."

Amelia then puts away the pistol and brings out the rifle.

"Now bring out your pistol."

Amelia puts away the rifle and brings out the pistol again.

"Remember sometimes switching to your sidearm which is your pistol can be faster than reloading."

"I think I'm starting to get it."

"We both are, now let's continue until we fully understand how to use these weapons."

"Alright, Rodeo."

(One Hour later - 8:00 AM)

After one hour of training, they were able to get a good idea on how to use a gun, but while they are not perfect, it should be enough for them to prepare themselves for what comes next. 

"Ok, if we're going to get out of this forest our best bet, might be to find a dirt road."

"A dirt road?"

"Every road leads to somewhere, Dr. Amelia. If we find a dirt road which I know every forest has and follow that road it might be our ticket out of this forest, but we will face the GOC on the way, if they are in this forest still. So Dr. Amelia I need to ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Are you ready? Because once we move out, we won't stop and if we face opposition, we take them out... without hesitating. So you ready?"

Amelia wasn't sure about killing a person, but these were the GOC and she wasn't sure if help would arrive from the foundation anytime soon. Dr. Amelia Buck then with a deep breath and determined look.

"I'm ready."

"Good, now get rid of your lab coat."

"What?"

"I'm just saying keeping that labcoat on is a risky gamble if they spot us, just because they saw something white hiding behind a tree or bush.

"Well your light pink color is not the best in this environment."

"I'll... take my chances. Just get rid of the coat and give me your wallet and SCP keycard as well your weapon magazine's and I'll store them in my hollow stomach compartment. Simple as that."0

Amelia sighs, "Alright, but you'll give me the magazines when I need them."

"Ok."

Amelia gives him the wallet, keycard and the magazines that stores in his hollow stomach. He shuffles most of the items inside his hollow compartment so that it will be easy for the other items to fit and make more space. It took a few good minutes, but he was done.

"Ok I'm done. Now get rid of the coat."

"You don't have to tell me twice." Amelia then removes the lab coat and throws it on the ground. 

"Alright, let's move."

Amelia nods and with their weapons ready they head out and start walking through the forest.

(Site-19, Helipad - 8:05 AM)

On the helipad of Site-19, a helicopter landed on it and out of it came out none other than Agent Green. 

"Finally made it." Greennsaid as he saw a MTF soldier approaching him.

"Good morning. You must be Agent Green, right?"

"Yep, that's me. So where's the briefing going on regarding the search & rescue mission?"

"Just follow me and I'll take you there."

Green nods as the MTF soldier moves ahead and Green follows him.

'Hope you two are still out there, wouldn't want to see you two dead before we come to get you.' He thought, hoping they were still alive.

(Forest - 8:25 PM)

The humanoid figure was looking at the lab coat lying on the ground with curiosity. 

"A doctor in a forest? So is the one I'm being drawn to... no I don't think the doctor is the one I'm being drawn to."

The humanoid figure looks around and notices some bullseyes carved on some trees, and bullets on them. He walks closer to the tree and takes a look at it.

"Seems like they were doing target practice, but still doesn't explain the one I'm being drawn to and the labcoat on the ground."

The humanoid figure heads for the direction of the source that he is being drawn to.

"I could've reached him or her if the rain hadn't picked up last night and those soldiers with the blue weren't roaming around doing their patrol." he said, frustrated.
