A distant past [Mini-Chapter]

Mum's always telling me not to go outside alone. She always says I'll get kidnapped or something stupid like that.

"Oriel!! Make sure you stay safe! I can't lose my little boy, can I?", she keeps reminding me.

I'm not that dumb! She looks at me like I'm a kid. I'm 11 for god's sake! I can do things on my own. I stride along the sidewalk happily until I reach the convenience store.

Damn, it's closed. The next store is like 10 minutes away! I half-heartedly make my way across the road. There's a shortcut though, so I guess I can save time. I enter the dark alleyway, I'm not small anymore. I won't get scared by darkness-

Wh-hat is that??

In front of me stood a tall thing, it had very bright hair and very weird clothes I've never seen before. No human is tall like that, right. But it has arms and legs though, so maybe... And why does it have a horn? Is this a Halloween prank or something...? It's not October though.

I can't see its face. It's like there's fog surrounding it.

"H-hey, mister, it's not Halloween. You're scaring me...-", I barely utter.

Dash! In an instant, it teleported behind me, holding me by the neck tightly with one hand and covering my mouth with the other. I barely manage to breathe. I feel like I'm about to cough out blood. I should have listened to mum...

Then, another weird thing happens. A hole appears in mid-air. It grows by the second. The thing pushes me towards it. I try to stay back but to no avail. I can barely hold on; I can't even breathe anymore. The thing then released its' hand, can it read my thoughts...? I gasp for air, taking in the fresh breeze. Though, I have no time for that. It's too late. I'm inside now. Completely engulfed within the space.

Mum... I'm sorry I didn't listen, s-so, promise me.. Okay, mum? Promise me, okay. You'll save me, right..?
