Chapter - 2 - Meeting the inlaws

There was no sense of nostalgia for her previous life. She was an orphan in her past life and there was no one who would miss her if she was gone.

Now that she has come here she must live well. She can't act on her impulse and make the situation worse for herself.

Tang Li felt that if she wanted to live well here she had to keep a low profile. Even the fact that she was a surgeon in her previous life and knew medical skills couldn't be revealed now but after careful planning.

"You prodigal daughter-in-law, get up and go to work in the fields! Don't think you'll get rest just because you were beaten up in the morning! Pretending to be dead! Get up quickly!"

At this moment a sharp old lady's inherently hoarse voice came from outside accompanied by the sound of footsteps.

Tang Li frowned. She recognized that the voice was the original owner's evil mother-in-law, Gu Xiulan.

She immediately closed her eyes and continued to pretend to be unconscious. She was sore from the fever, her limbs were weak, and it was difficult to get out of bed. How could she still go to work!

With a bang! the door was pushed open and Gu Xiulan walked in loudly while cursing.

She walked to the bed, slapped Tang Li's arm, and shouted: "Don't pretend to be dead! Get up and go to work!" 

Although Gu Xiulan is a little hunchbacked, she is still 1.6 meters tall. She has dark skin, her hair is tied up in a bun, and most of it is gray. 

Although her feet are bound and she has never done farm work before, she has done a lot of housework at home and has also practiced her strength. This slap is full of strength. 

Tang Li cursed her eighteen generation of ancestors from the bottom of her heart.

She frowned in pain, hummed twice, but didn't open her eyes. 

Seeing that her face was flushed, Gu Xiulan frowned and touched her forehead with her hand.

She was so hot that she withdrew her hand. Instead of waking her up, she turned around and went out cursing, "You're so delicate! Fever after two beatings. What a lowly girl, she has the body of an eldest lady!" 

Tang Li opened her eyes and gritted her teeth angrily. She had never seen such a vicious old lady in her life, it was amazing.

"Mother, what's the matter with sister-in-law? The captain of the production team is urging her to go to work, why isn't she going?!" Another female voice sounded not far from the door. 

"She has a fever!" Gu Xiulan glared her first daughter-in-law and said angrily,"She can't do it today you should do more. Work for a whole 10 points, don't you dare come back early. Every day need to feed you a hen that doesn't lay eggs!" 

Su Cheng was so angry and ashamed of being scolded by her mother-in-law. She has been married for three years and has not been able to conceive. Whenever her mother-in-law got angry she would scold her as a hen that couldn't lay eggs.

But no matter how angry she was, she didn't dare to refute this violent mother-in-law who also held all the family's money and food in her hands, because the result of talking back would be to be beaten and have no food to eat. 

"Mother, I will do more today. Sister-in-law has a fever should I go to the infirmary to get her medicine?" Su Cheng said this, not to care about Tang Li, but to divert her mother-in-law's attention so that she would stop nagging her.

She found that since her sister-in-law came her mother-in-law's violent temper had been cast on the new daughter-in-law, so she had forgotten about her which made her life much easier. 

"You prodigal daughter-in-law our family doesn't have money for medicines! I really think of myself as a young lady, and will be dead if I don't get..." Gu Xiulan's series of curse words started coming out of her mouth breathlessly just as she expected....
