The palace was known to be the place filled with glory and gold. After Ye Jiao saw the palace with her own eyes, she was convinced at how true it was. The large palace was coated in gold and silver color. It was as if they wanted to flaunt the wealth Chen Kingdom has.
Lu Wan was greeted by the guard as soon as the carriage entered.
"Second Young Master Lu Wan, we have been waiting for your arrival."
Seeing the guards, Lu Wan was expressionless as he nodded his head a bit. "Take me to the meeting room."
"Yes!"
The two of them were brought by the guards into the palace. There was much more decoration in the hallway, but Ye Jiao didn't pay much attention anymore. She felt that her eyes would go blind if she tried to look at those shiny items.
"We have arrived, Second Young Master Lu Wan."
The door was opened and they could see the large room inside. It was a pure white room with a large table in the middle and several chairs surroundings it. There was some other furniture inside, but their attention was locked in the five children who were sitting down.
First, there was a young man with tall stature. His appearance clearly told them that he was around the same age as Chen Zi Quan. His dark brown hair was long and tied to the back loosely. Upon seeing them, he gave an amiable smile.
"It seems that the last guest has come. I'm Cao Ren, the third prince of the Cao Kingdom."
Beside him a woman with similar appearance and brown hair creased her eyebrows. She was wearing a fine dress that didn't really suit her current age as it made her look like a child who stole her mother's dress.
"Brother, people from lower rank should introduce themselves first!"
"Ah, my name is Lu Wan from Chen Kingdom. It's my honor to be able to meet with you all."
The woman's brow creased even harder. "I'm Cao Mei, the second princess of the Cao Kingdom."
After they had introduced themselves, another young man spoke up. "I'm Qi Huan, the first prince of Chi Kingdom."
Ye Jiao peeked from her position at the back to see the young man's appearance. The young man looked even younger than Lu Wan with clear blue eyes and silver hair color. If one should say, he truly looked like a perfect prince.
The last one was a man with a large build. From his appearance, he should be already 15 years of age. He had an indifferent expression and seemed unapproachable. "My name is Bai Xiang. I come from Chi Kingdom."
Lu Wan nodded his head. The fifth person was Chen Zi Quan, so there was naturally no need for them to introduce themselves to one another.
As Lu Wan picked one of the seats, Ye Jiao noticed that they only prepared six chairs. It was as if they already knew that Barbarian Kingdom wouldn't send anyone as the representatives for this meeting.
'Considering their lower talent and how they focus in physical talent, it's not that weird.'
Even if they sent someone here, she was sure that their talent wouldn't be able to match with the other children in this room. It was apparent that the Barbarian Kingdom wouldn't want to waste his important time for such pointless meeting, thus they didn't even try to send one.
The atmosphere in the room was stifling as each of them was trying to assess one after another. They might be told to be friends with one another, but no one could actually pull it out immediately.
"I think we're not going to go anywhere if we just stare at one another," Cao Ren, the brown haired boy, suddenly started the conversation. "We have introduced ourselves to one another, so should we also introduce our rank?"
"I think it's obvious that every kingdom will send one rank 1 and one rank 2, so the older one is rank 2 and the younger is rank 1," Chen Zi Quan replied.
"That's true."
As the conversation died down once again, Lu Wan looked at the pile of food in front of him. It was only some cookies and cupcakes, but he found them more pleasant to look at compared to these geniuses.
"If no one wants to talk, we can just eat," Lu Wan remarked as he picked up the closest cookie to him.
Qi Huan, the silver haired boy, looked at Lu Wan with interest. "Are you not afraid of getting poisoned by eating strange food?"
"Are you telling me that Imperial Family Chen will do something as low as poisoning a representative?" Chen Zi Quan's voice turned cold.
Cao Ren raised his hand. "There's nothing wrong with being cautious. No one knows what each other's goals are today."
Hmph!
Chen Zi Quan harrumphed and took a cake as he stuffed it into his mouth. He knew that his father would never try to poison them. Their relationship with one another was already bad enough that there was no need to worsen it even more.
Lu Wan finished the cookie before turning his head to Qi Huan. "There's no need to worry. I doubt they're going to play dirty at the very beginning of the hunt that's supposed to represent peace."
"Hmm, you're correct," Qi Huan nodded his head.
In truth, Lu Wan wasn't afraid they would try to poison him. He had immunity against most of the poison available in this kingdom. Except they tried to use high grade poison with deadly effect, he wouldn't have any problem eating them.
"I don't like sweets," Cao Mei, the only woman in the group, remarked.
Qi Huan picked up a cupcake. "To truly begin our meeting, let's just talk about anything you want. We all might come from different kingdoms and have some hostility, but as our young friend that I forgot the name of say, this hunt is intended for peace. It's not like we're going to have a life and death battle against one another, so let's just enjoy our time."
"My name is Lu Wan, silver haired prince."
"Right, Lu Wan," Cao Ren nodded his head amusedly. He knew that Qi Huan must have purposely said that he forgot the name because their capabilities as Eon Energy Master was already enough to make them have superior memory. Trying to memorize the name of four new people at once shouldn't be a problem.
"Yes, Prince Cao Ren?"
"There's no need to use honorifics. I'm not here as a prince but as a participant," Cao Ren said. "Since it's better to enjoy ourselves, how about if we talk regarding your goal in the Spring Hunt."
"That sounds interesting," Qi Huan nodded. He turned to look at Bai Xiang. "What do you think, Bai Xiang?"
The large man merely nodded his head. "I don't mind."
"Ok," Lu Wan agreed.
"I agree," Chen Zi Quan also responded.
"Alright, let's all start from the ladies."
