By bus, Gun and New went through a bumpy way back to Bangkok. New parted with Gun in front of the university to go back to his dorm which was the other way around. As for Gun himself, he called a cab to return to the townhouse. He felt so exhausted that he only wanted to lie down on his bed. Gun was used to all availability of amenities. When he did not have it, it was like his life was missing something, although he had not driven out of his mother's womb since birth.
The young man stumbled into the front of the house where the lights were turned off. He pulled off the keys hanging on the belt loops and picked the one for unlocking the house door. Together with darkness and exhaustion, he could not unlock the door and dropped the key to the ground. When Gun crouched down to collect the keys, he suddenly saw a shadow running past quickly in the corner of his eye. But when he looked back, he could not find anything.
