CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Jayden Leti, Douglas Leti's son."

I froze....

I got up....

I had both hands on my head...

I pinched myself...is this a dream?

"You're what..?"

Jayden relaxed on the chair and folded his hands.

"The Deputy Governor of Lagos State son. Only son."

I was dumbfounded.

"That explains why the entire school knows you and treats you like a god.

That explains why you stay in a huge lounge.

That explains a lot of things." I said finally.

He got up and smiled.

He walked towards me.

"I'm surprised." I said.

"I know you are."

"I'm friends with the Deputy Governor's son, it would look good on my resume." I said again coyly.

He nodded.

"Who's Mia?" I asked.

"The minister of Aviation's daughter." He said with his hands in his pocket. He had his signature smirk on.

That smirk should be illegal

"Wow. But why you guys schooling in Nigeria and not outside the country like other Governor's children plus why don't you move with escorts and guards and all?"

He took a step closer to me and we were only inches apart from each other. My heart began to race and perform different aerobics in the twinkling of an eye. Jayden seemed to be aware of the effect he had on me and he moved closer.

"That's because we chose to. I mean, Mimi and I were raised in Canada. Did high school there and bla blah blah. I got into trouble over there and my dad made me to school here and Mimi is to keep watch over me by schooling with me here. Even though I don't see the need."

"Why did you get into trouble?"

"I fought with a teacher." He said and smiled.

I only shook my head.

We were so close now that if I should move an inch, I'd collide with his body.

I began taking slow steps backwards till my back hit a wall. I stayed there and Jayden came closer.

Okay .what?

He murmured in my ear.

"Now you know who I am, would you give me respect?" His lips touched the skin close to my ear.

I felt tingles on my body.

This is torture

"Jayden?" Cole's voice called out.

Phew. Thank you Cole

Jayden straightened up and made room for me to move.

"The cake is about to be cut. Mia has been looking for you both." He said.

"We be right there." Jayden said and Cole nodded and he went in.

"Shall we?" Jayden asked me.

I nodded and we went in.

The rest of the party was filled with dancing, eating and lots of merry. Mia and I got on well. We left the party at about few minutes past eleven but not without collecting Mia's number.

We drove to Jayden's lounge. It was actually locked but since I know who he is I wasn't surprised when the Askari let him in immediately he horned.

I was already exhausted from the party. And I bet Jayden was too. I crashed on his bed the minute he opened the door.

He giggled at my action. Face down. I was already so sleepy. I felt warm hands on my legs. I turned and sat up immediately.

"What the heck?"

"Chill. You can't sleep with high heels. I was removing your shoes." He said with both hands up in mock surrender.

"Oh."

He nodded and continued.

He knelt down and began unhooking the straps of my heels. His hands touched my lower leg and I jolted.

"Are you all right?" He asked.

I only nodded. He smirked and continued and once again same thing happened.

Like what the fuck is wrong with me

The heel on my right was off. Down to the other. This time around he used his index finger to draw a trail slightly above my ankle.

And the worst happened.

I moaned.

Was I really enjoying all these teasing?

No way he wasn't doing it on purpose.

"Hm. I'm tired. I'll just remove the strap myself. Don't worry." I said hastily as I tried to remove his hand from my shoe. Leg rather. His smirk grew wider.

For the umpteenth time, that smirk should and must be illegal

He held my hand.

"Relax. Why acting like a sixteen year old nervous virgin? Or are you?" He asked with one brow raised and I gasped.

That clears it. He was teasing me on purpose. Pervert

Okay. He was right though. I mean the virgin part and not the sixteen years old part obviously.

He laughed hard and got up.

"Don't girls remove their make-up before they sleep?"

I glared at him.

"I am not 'girls'. Let me be...okay?"

"Hmm..feisty. I like it."

"Where you dropped when you were a baby?"

I asked trying to taunt him.

"Huh?" He asked obviously confused.

"Did your mom or nanny drop you accidentally or Maybe even intentionally when you were a kid? Because I obviously think a you're losing a bolt or nut in your head." I got up and stood directly at him. I refuse to be intimidated despite the huge height difference.

"What gave you the impression that I had a nanny?" He asked clearly towering over me.

"You know...a politician's son. So I bet you grew up with maids, nannies, cleaners and the likes."

His face was suddenly expressionless.

"Get to sleep." He said commandingly.

"How was the party?" Mimi asked immediately I opened the door. She was folding her clothes which were messy on her bed. I assume she'd given it to a laundry man but why he didn't fold them is what I can't understand. I examined Mimi for a while, her was was updo in a messy bun and she had on an extra large t-shirt which is now more or less a gown top for her.

"It was very.... unpredictable." I answered while crashing on my bed. She chuckled.

"I'll have to give Kyla a call one of these days for attempting to make you a bit sociable." She winked at me.

"Had fun with any guys?" The grin was huge on her face.

"Don't even start." I began unbuckling the straps of my heels.

I kept them on the shoe rack next to Mimi's Collection of shoes. No surprise there.

I contemplated on asking her what's been on my mind for the last ten hours. If I should do this, I needed to be a bit technical in doing so.

I went to her bed and picked up a jean and began folding. Mimi shot me a thankful glance.

"Mimi...?" I began.

She turned and looked at me.

"Are you related to Douglas Leti?" She looked at me and smiled.

"Do you want the truth or a lie?"

"The truth. Obviously." That earned a chuckle from her.

I dropped the Jean into the hamper on the ground.

"He is my dad." She said casually as she dropped a gown into the hamper.

"Why am I just knowing this now? I mean that can explain the clothes shopping and the six figure monthly allowance and even the flashy cars. Besides you really don't act like a politician's daughter at all, okay Jayden maybe." I said tilting my head to the side.

She only shrugged.

"Why don't you all move with escorts or guards or security men?" I asked and she quickly replied.

"Wouldn't that be awkward? I mean having a guard or whatever following you everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE?"

I chuckled at the last part.

She continued.

"Though we do have security or spies or whaty they're called but they don't follow us everywhere. Being a deputy governor's daughter is only a title for me and I personally like to keep a low profile."

By now we were already done folding the clothes and she took the hamper to the closet. I nodded while helping her make her bed.

"It still feels surreal to me though." I said pulling the covers up. She chuckled.

"Does Jasmine have a wedding planner? I could help look for one for her within such short period."

"Short period?" I asked perplexed.

"Yeah. It's only a week away."

"I don't understand." I said getting up to reach for the invitation card on the closet. I opened the card and scanned through for the date.

Court Registrar..... February 1st

I then realized that I had been too excited about it that I didn't even look at the date or venue of the wedding. It was even a court wedding. But why would Jas make the date so quick. I need to call her.
