13 Visit to the Herbalist

Raven:...

Adam:....

I'm on my way to the herbalist's office but Clay keeps following me.

Raven: What is it?!

Unable to keep my composure, I burst out at him.

Adam:..! I-I was just... worried, that looked dangerous.

Raven: That's no reason to skip your training.

Adam: Well, you said that I am on a break so... I'm not skipping anything.

He says with a proud smile and picks up pace to walk beside me.

Raven: Huh.

I thought he had no brain because of the dumb things he does, but this isn't bad though. He isn't like the other trainees, he is carefree. How long has it been since I met someone like him?

An amused smile starts to spread across my face but I suppress it. There's nothing to be entertained by, and this, 'my second life', isn't for enjoying it. I was probably saved just to save my mother and get revenge.

I reach the herbalist's office and knock on the door.

*Knock knock*

???: Come in.

I open the door and see a pretty woman with long, red hair, brown eyes and plump, red lips wearing the palace's white herbalist uniform. As soon as she, Peach White, sees me, her eyes go wide in surprise.

Peach: Raven?! What happened to your hand?!

Raven: It's just a little cut.

She rushes over to me with a piece cloth dipped in antiseptic. Peach was one of the first people I met when I came to Ozara, we've been good friends since then.

Peach: Rusted or clean?

She's talking about the object I got hurt with. Hmm, I don't think I took a good look at the knife.

Raven: I don't know.

Peach: Gee, how careless can you be?!

She wipes the blood away and dabs the wound with the medical cloth. Ow, that burns.

Raven: Hiss...

Peach: You can't take good care of yourself and you are teaching other people defence?! Shame on you!

Raven: Hmph.

So what? It's not like I wanted this. I pout and Clay chuckles at the scene.

Adam: Pfft.

Raven: What're you laughing at?!

Adam:..! N-Nothing!

It is then that Peach notices him. Her eyes widen in surprise and her cheeks tint pink.

Peach: You must be the new trainee everyone's been talking about!

Adam: Huh?

Peach: I hear that you're a romantic who wants to impress the woman he likes with his position!

Raven:..!

P-Peach!! You're stabbing we that cloth in excitement!

Peach: She must be very beautiful if you're willing to do so much for her! How does she look?

Adam: U-Um...

Clay notices her stabbing me and staggers with his words.

Raven:....

Oh, Peach, please!! You're killing me here!

Peach: Well, I'm beautiful too! If she's so hard to get, you should just chose me! A handsome man and a beautiful woman, we'd make a good match!

Raven:....

Dad, I'm coming to you...!

Adam: H-Her wound..!

I'm about to surrender when Clay finally manages to blurt out his concern.

Peach: Huh? Oh! Sorry!

Raven:...I hate you so much.

Peach: Well... I guess the cleaning is done then!

Adam and Raven:.....

She sticks her tongue out and puts the cloth away. Hahh, how did she even manage to work in the Palace? Just then..

*BAM!*

Everyone:..!!

The door behind me opens with a bang and in walks...

Jayden: Raven!
