Matt Santini, an American Wizard from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, wakes up thousands of miles away in the Hopsital Wing of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Injured from a disaster and missing parts of his memory, Matt has to recover what he can and decide whether or not he will finish his education, as Ilvermorny has been destroyed. The school's destruction and Matt's injuries are clearly linked. Meanwhile, Hermione Granger decides, against the advice of her boyfriend Ron Weasley, to return to Hogwarts for her 7th and final year of magical education. There she encounters Matt Santini, an American out of place. Together, Matt and Hermione with the help of Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and Draco Malfoy, they must work to unravel the mystery of Matt's memories, who targeted Ilvermorny, and whether they're still being hunted.
