Giovanni Kivela, a 19-year-old ex-mafioso, suffered that exact fate the very same day he’d planned on carrying out a John Wick-style mission to avenge Officer North, the parole officer whom he loved like a mother. Though he likely would’ve gone through with the plan if he hadn’t spoken with her in his dreams the night before the mission. After a heartwarming and eye-opening conversation with her, Gio decided against throwing his life away and instead chose to honor her legacy and memory by living a peaceful, philanthropic life. And the same Mafia that Officer North died to get Gio away from was kind enough to let him do it!
Just kidding. Didn’t you read the logline? They lit him the hell up. On the same day he was supposed to carry out that John Wick mission on them, ironically enough.
As he bled out, Giovanni asked any god that would listen for a second chance! He never asked to be a mafioso. He just wanted to live a normal life! Have a wife and kids and be a boring dad who played games, drank beer, and barbecued for the rest of his life! He’d do anything… be anything if it meant he could live again and honor Officer North’s sacrifice for him!
But Gio wasn’t religious. He didn’t think any god out there was actually listening to his plea. Right…? And what’d he say again? He’d do and/or be anything? Maybe he was being a bit dramat–
