Chapter 15: Reincarnated into a yandere otome game Ver 2.0

[???]

I woke up to a relatively peaceful environment. The air was crisp yet slightly foul. The faint smell of iron tickled my nose. Sharp pain flocked to my shoulder causing me to open my eyes.

"Young master, you are finally up! How are you feeling?" asked a 2-D man in a white coat. The language was foreign, resembling all 4 languages I know equally little. Despite this, I could still comprehend it perfectly.

'So this is the place I am reincarnated in.' I looked at my shoulder to find a huge wound bandaged. 'So much for good conditions'

There was not only the wound, I was also feeling queasy, sleepy, energy drained, and had a headache.

'Perhaps a fever derived from the wound?'

Using the fever to my advantage, I placed a hand to my head.

"Ugh, not too well. My head is a bit muddled. Please remind me what has happened,"

"As you command. We were heading back from Rubwin academy for summer break while encountering unnaturally strong bandits along the way. You ended up having to fight. We are terribly sorry young master." saying this, he bowed down with a slightly fearful look in his eyes. When I looked deeper, however, I could see glints of frustration for not being able to protect this 'young master'. What a useful situation I have been put in...

The carrot and stick method, the previous soul in this body seemed to have used it well. It is quite hard to get a very good balance between fear and affection. Too much kindness and people will slack off. Too much fear and people will try to indirectly sabotage you or may leave.

Because I didn't know much about 'young master's' personality, I decided to say and do as little as possible. Whatever actions of mine do differ from 'young master' will hopefully be put under the guise of 'being sick'.

'...Wait a minute….' I thought, realizing something 'Rubwin academy...this art style… isn't this from 'Blood like Rubies'??? '

Blood like Rubies. An animated otome game made from a collaboration of EAYF, an app and gadget development company and Anitex, an animation company famous for producing many well-loved anime. 'Blood like Rubies' was the first completely animated otome game, making it extremely popular. And I am the CEO of 'EAYF', the one who proposed a collaboration between my company and Anitex.

'So that's what he meant by being a fan,'

Smirking, I thanked that 'god' in my head. As CEO, I had a huge impact on the project, and thus I knew things that never found a need to be talked about in the otome game. As one may have guessed, this would give me an even bigger benefit than just knowing the events. Backstories, feelings towards other people, and many other similar things had been sketched out so that the game would have as few plot holes as possible.

"I will decide on a suitable consequence later. For now, investigate the bandits. It is strange how they were able to almost defeat a noble's carriage." I command in an authoritative voice, "I am not feeling well, so if there are no necessary things I must do, I will be taking a rest. Don't disturb me unless you have something urgent to say. If you would like to say something, say it now."

There was a small glint of confusion in the doctor's eyes, however, it was dull, minimal, and ignored. There was no suspicion.

'Good, this must mean I am doing something right'

"There is nothing of importance. Enjoy your rest, young master." He said, before leaving the tent I had been residing in, leaving me alone with my thoughts (and perhaps the attention of the being who called himself a god, however that was not confirmed).

After waiting a few minutes, listening to the footsteps, and making sure no one came in this tent, I buried myself under the blankets they had given me, making sure my voice was muffled.

"Mr.God, are you there?" I whispered, refusing to call the entity something I didn't believe it was. I felt like a three year old trying to communicate to a monster I believed was under my bed. Even so, I kept going. "If so, I would appreciate it if you told me, or gave me a sign."

Nothing happened.

Sighing, I debated whether I should continue or just go to sleep. It was quite obvious that either that god wasn't listening, or just didn't want to talk to me.

'It is still worth a try, I guess.'

"Okay then. Well, if you actually are listening or have some power that allows you to listen later, I would appreciate it if you gave me some memories, or at least background info on the guy I possessed. If things progress like this, I am going to get caught, or at the very least, people will be very suspicious of me." I lied. If things progressed this way, I could tell people I got a bit of amnesia. However, that wouldn't be ideal and would be risky. He didn't need to know that though, and if he really couldn't read minds here, he wouldn't be knowing this (at least he wouldn't know that I know this).

Without warning, a thought I didn't own flew into my head.

'Floran Everflame the only son of Marquis Everflame, older brother of Sage Everflame. With exceedingly high mana, above-average sword skills, and genius military tactics, he is called the genius of the battlefield. He is planned to succeed the title of marquis of his father. His personality is close to the average noble, although a bit more lenient towards those in positions lower than him.'

"Thank you," I smiled.

Much unlike the entity's smile, my smile didn't hold that sinister shadow to it. However, this was because the smile I had made was fake. A sinister smile I was barely holding down, threatened to tug at my lips.

'Well, this is quite the start,' I thought to myself.
