Synopsis

A tingle ignited at the lower part of my stomach, and I pushed him to the couch, climbing on top of him, our lips hungrily meeting again. The kiss intensified, a fervent desire to devour each other. My heart pounded, skin tingling, body ablaze with sensation. I wanted more, to be as close to him as possible. Drowning in the moment, in the feel of his lips and the press of his body, nothing else mattered. It was as if we were the only two people in the world.

Fatal Allure

Chapter One: Nathan's POV

I waited for the perfect moment, my anxiety mixing with the antiseptic scents and sterile white walls. Every nurse's step and fleeting glance from the passing cops made it seem like time was stretching out. I nodded curtly at a uniformed officer as he strode by, trying to mirror his professional demeanor.

The hallway was eerily quiet, the air thick with tension and anticipation. I inched closer to my target room, my heart beating faster. Just ten feet away, two uniformed policemen guarded the doorway, their watchful eyes missing nothing. My heart raced as I watched them, plotting my next move. Matt was in that room, and I had to get him out.

"Do you understand the plan?" I whispered to Donald, my voice low and urgent.

"Yes, boss," he replied, equally hushed.

The silence was suffocating, broken only by the gentle beeping of machines and the rhythmic ticking of the clock. Each second felt like an eternity. I counted down the minutes until our plan would go into action, my heartbeat loud in my ears. I focused on my breathing, trying to remain calm, but my nerves were frayed.

Just as we were about to make our move, chaos erupted in the hallway. "Wait!" I hissed, pulling Donald back. The two policemen were suddenly in a frenzy, calling for the nurse. Nurses rushed by, following the police officers, and I watched as a gurney was wheeled down the corridor. On it was Matt, his body motionless, his face pale.

My heart clenched in my chest. This was not how I had imagined this going. The gurney was wheeled into the elevator, and they were gone. I stood frozen, unable to move.

Donald asked, "What's happening?" but I couldn't respond.

Memories of Matt flooded my mind - the good times, the laughs, and the adventures. I remembered how we had always been there for each other. Tears welled in my eyes, blurring my vision. I wanted to reach out and touch him, but I knew it was too late.

Donald grabbed my jacket, urging me to leave.

I glared at him. "No, we have to get him."

Donald shook his head, his expression grave. "I think it's too late. I think he's beyond saving."

His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I stared at him, trying to deny the truth, but deep down, I knew he might be right. Time was running out, and the hospital sounds seemed to intensify, underscoring the urgency of our situation.

I pushed Donald's hand away and began walking towards the area where the nurses had gone, my footsteps echoing on the linoleum floor. Donald stepped in front of me.

I glared at him, my height advantage making me feel like a giant. "Get out of my way," I growled, my voice low and dangerous.

He shrunk back, his eyes wide with fear. I stepped around him, my gaze fixed on my goal. I had to find Matt. I had to save him.

But as I turned the corner, I found myself face to face with Donald again.

His eyes darted from my face to the corridor, then back at me. "The police aren't here, but if they were... they would know you're connected to him, and they'll take you. All our plans will be ruined. Let's go, and we'll come back."

We both knew we wouldn't be back. I'm sure he saw the lifeless look in Matt's eyes.

I looked behind Donald, and two nurses were staring at us, confusion and suspicion on their faces. I knew he was right; I was acting suspicious.

"Please," Donald said, his voice pleading. I swallowed and walked towards the reception. It felt like I was turning my back on Matt, betraying him for the second time.

I forced myself to move, one foot in front of the other, even though every step felt like agony. I had to leave, had to get out of this place where Matt had died. But with every step, I felt more and more like a traitor. I could see his face in my mind, his look of desperation as life left his body. I wanted to turn back, to run to his side, but I knew it was too late.

As I hurried out of the hospital, the door slammed shut behind me, the sound echoing like a gunshot in the stillness of the night. I felt the cold air hit my face, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. But it was no use. I was shaking with emotion, my body vibrating with anger and pain.

How could this have happened? What had gone wrong? The world seemed to spin around me, and I had to lean against the wall to steady myself. A sob escaped my lips, and I sank to the ground, my knees giving out beneath me. I buried my face in my hands.

What went wrong? I had gotten information that he was healing well and I had decided to plan. I was going to help him escape the police. My jaw clenched as I remembered something or someone.

Kelvin.

"Where do you want to go?" Donald asked

"Take me to kelvin " I said through clenched teeth

I stormed into the apartment, my eyes blazing with fury as they locked onto Kelvin, who was sprawled on the couch with a smirk on his face.

"Why the hell didn't you do anything when you heard Matt was in the hospital?" I snapped, my voice taut with rage. "You knew he was there, and you did nothing!"

Kelvin's smirk faded, replaced by a cold, calculating look. "I didn't think he needed my help. After all, you were there to save the day, weren't you?"

I titled my head to the side. "He had a car crash from a police chase; and he was at the hospital for days. You could have gone to extract him."

Kelvin scoffed. "When the cops were there? You think it would be that easy?"

I clenched my jaw. "You still haven't answered my question. Why was Matt still at the hospital?"

Kelvin stood up. "Because I wasn't going to risk my ass when the cops were snooping around."

I gave a dry chuckle. "You just cared about yourself."

Kelvin stood up, his eyes flashing with anger. "You think it would be that easy? Matt was chased by the police because he was linked to the Minister's murder, and—"

I cut him off. "We had nothing to do with it. You know that, and that should have been a good reason to help him. The cops were all over the hospital. Do you think if he had survived, you would be spared?"

Kelvin snorted. "That's why you took the first flight to the country when you heard the news. You were trying to protect your name."

I interjected, my voice filled with conviction. "He wasn't just our partner, he was our friend. And you're right, if he had survived, he might have spilled everything." I paused, my gaze piercing into Kelvin's eyes. "But did you have something to do with his death?"

Kelvin's response was cold and curt. "He was a thorn."

My heart raced as my grip tightened on Kelvin's shirt, pushing him against the table. "Did you kill him?" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear.

Kelvin's eyes flickered with fear, his voice barely above a whisper.

"What are you going to do?" he asked, desperation creeping into his words.

I released my grip, taking a step back, my mind racing with conflicting emotions.

"You think I care about my name?" I spat, my anger boiling over. "Matt was more than just a friend to me. He was my brother." Kelvin's accusation stung, but I refused to back down.

I stared into his eyes, searching for any sign of guilt or deception. But his gaze remained unreadable, like a locked door refusing to reveal its secrets. Frustration intensified, leaving me tangled in a web of confusion.

"If I find out you had a hand in his death," my voice low and menacing, "you'll pay for it." I turned away, my hand tightening around the doorknob like a vice. Without glancing back, I said . "Matt trusted you, but I won't make the same mistake."

I turned to face Kelvin, my eyes blazing with determination. "If I find even a hint of your involvement, you'll face the consequences."

I stormed out of the house, the weight of the situation settling heavily upon my shoulders.

in the car, my heart raced with anticipation and frustration.

Donald shared the latest update from our contact at the station. "Matt's death came as a shock. His recovery was going well."

The realization hit me like a punch to the gut.

"Someone killed him," I growled, my voice filled with anger and determination.

Donald turned to me, his eyes reflecting the same determination. "What do you want me to do?"

"I need the names of every staff member who was on duty at the hospital," I demanded, my mind racing with possibilities. "We need to dig deep and find out who could have done this and why."

Donald nodded, his jaw clenched in resolve. "I'll get to work on it. But we need to be careful. If Kelvin's involved, he won't hesitate to strike again."

I nodded, my grip on the seat tightening. "I'll take care of Kelvin. You just get me those names."
