Shane knew about the existence of the Giant Zombie. He had seen it before when he tried going too far from his starting region.

At that time, the Zombie failed to notice him as he seemed to be heading to a different place. Nonetheless, Shane could never forget that encounter since he felt that it was some sort of a Field Boss that could only be eliminated with the help of many allies.

"Giant Zombie…" Shane repeated. They had to prepare for this.

After some time, he decided to kill the rest of the intruders, as they had no use for their shelter. They couldn't keep them as prisoners or trust them as workers. They had no food to spare for them. 

Of course, he asked Leo and the others' opinions this time to confirm that this was the right answer. Then, he didn't bother asking Leo or Harper to kill them for him, as he decided to do it by himself.

He even used his hatchet's Ice Effect to freeze their head in the process.
