Oh Fuck

"... and at the end, I have nothing. No Evelyn." Max finally finished narrating some aspect of his life in hoarse whispers, his head held low in defeat.

Truths forced out of him, the bizarre world mocking at him silently.

Throughout his narration of the events he encountered, he intuitively knew from Hazel's eyes that she was silently emotional but her face showed none of that. If Max's story was true, which was indeed true, then she thought only three words could define him properly: Pained, determined, and crazy.

Now, she was silently pondering over so many things which the Vampire Slave mentioned, things that he internally deemed were too private during his narration, things he said all because of Cameron's unnecessary, digging questions. Many privacy violating questions for the Vampire's liking were asked such as how did he become a Vampire, who were Evelyn and Penelope to him and a lot more.

To Max's advantage, he didn't know the true answers to many of the questions. But still, he had shared too much and it was somewhat ironically relieving to at least blankly share his sorrows with people he never knew.

The dominating silence dominating the cage between the trio lasted so weirdly.

At long last, Cameron tilted his head ever slightly. "You mean you and Gold cooperatively attacked the Royal Castle because of a human child someone called Lucas abducted?"

Yes, true, Vampire Slaves were known to exist but their operations, leaders and goals were encrypted beyond anyone's penetration.

Hazel wondered where Cameron's question was heading to.

Not waiting for Max to say anything, Cameron slowly started shifting to Hunch form due to rage. "Who said you can find a Vampire in Royalty Pack's Royal Castle! If he's the creator of Vampire Slaves, even a man whose minions are deadly wanted!" He paused, realizing that the trait of his tribe was taking charge of him.

'I deserve all the shouts. I do.'

"I don't know." Max murmured truthfully without the need of the Truth Mist. "I don't know..."

With a hiss, Cameron continued: "An attack of tenths of men dying because you wanted to find a mere human in the wrong place! Just because you have been fooled by an old woman?! Do you know how many Pack Forces died because of that?!"

Raising his head up, something in Max returned to where it belonged. "As far as Evelyn is concerned, ya have seen nothing." Evelyn was mentioned as a "mere human", and that was not fine with him. His determination to find where the girl was returned in his eyes.

Annoyed and in a calm tone, "Cameron," Hazel called. "You are losing your cool."

Cameron angrily paced towards Max with his sharp claws elongated. "I am killing this Vampire Slave here and now!" he screamed as he was slashing his arm diagonally.

Authoritatively, Hazel ordered the Sak Werewolf: "STOP IT!"

As his claws were a few centimeters away from beheading Max, Cameron obeyed the princess's command. He retracted his claws and growled in fury.

"You are being funny," said Hazel. "If you can handle this in a civilized manner, we might learn more from his stories." she jokingly pointed.

"So funny Hazel. LEARN WHAT!?!" Cameron, being raged, walked past her while concluding his stand: "Finish learning from a fool, Hazel, and I'll be back to finish him easier. I don't need The Absolute Law's interference in doing so." His chest reverberated with thunderous growls like an angry dog.

Cameron strode out of the big cage, he had already shifted back into the Human form.

With no one left in here except herself and Max, standing in pure silence while listening to Cameron's leaving footsteps, Hazel's phobia of darkness was starting to stubborn her conscience. Max emotionlessly examined her from up to down: She had a well sculptured feminine shape, that was all he could tell. Putting his eyes down, the grieve of killing the innocent human weighed down on him heavier.

The Vampire Slave could hear in his head the dead man worrying about his family, how he sounded worried as he pleaded, how he cried and how he died so easily in his sharp fangs.

'I am sorry. It wasn't me.'

On the other hand, Hazel started imagining some dark red eyes floating everywhere in the cage, so she slowly strode silently and stopped some few safe distances away from the kneeling Vampire. The effects of the Truth Mist were already non active on Max, therefore he asked in full control of his words: "He will come back and kill me, was he serious? Please he should be."

Hazel twisted her face as she said, "Ridiculous. Let me tell you this. If your type can die, Royalty Pack will be facing no threat, not really though. He left not because of you, slavey, he left because of me." She informed bitterly.

Abruptly looking up, Max glared menace at the princess with glowing eyes; her gaze was somewhat soft; she gulped in fright; something about his red eyes reminded her about him; they remained silently while staring at each other's eyes.

"Ya may also leave."

In a deep, imitating voice, "Ya may also leave." Hazel mocked Max and chuckled. "This serious voice makes you somehow very dramatic like an actor from a tragic..."

"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE! OR KILL..."

"Excuse me!" Hazel objected and before Max could end his statement:

Pap!

'Oh fuck… what!'

A sharp, speedy slap landed on his cheek;

How was she that fast? There was some good distance between them...

"Excuse me once more, slave..." The Crowned Luna dusted an invisible dirt on her jacket as she stood. "You don't shout at an esteemed princess like that." she said firmly.

Max could say nothing, his mouth slightly parted, his eyes glowing due to calm rage.

No woman had ever dared to raise a voice at him in his entire life, talk less to slap him on the face. Well... Penelope did slap him from time to time.

'Man... Except this weirdo.'

"My name is Hazel Bhojadev. A princess in that. I am still at making my decisions, but know this beforehand, that if I should finally decide on cooperating with you, what I'll want from you will also help you find the human girl easier."

Hazel turned about and started walking her way out of the cage. "We have similar stories that share similar goals, and I'm touched by your past."

Max pointed: "Ah never cared nor needed ya help, keep aside cooperating."

Without turning to look back, "Have some time to decide on that." Hazel adviced and left.
