I can't understand. There is a difference between hiding one's strength and turning into a pushover. Why does he do that, considering that everyone knows the proverb about the cattle getting hit on the horns if they're in front, and on the legs if they're behind. By pretending to be the weakest, he actually draws even more attention to himself, contradicting his own goal. You don't need to be ahead of everyone, but constantly being on your knees isn't necessary either. He's just giving everyone a reason to take out their negative emotions on him because he's weak and won't retaliate. People can boost their self-esteem at his expense.
