When a young alpha starts university, he feels something's off. While following this unknown feeling calling for him, he stumbles upon many obstacles. While he chases a feeling longingly, his best friend has problems with the reverse. He misses a feeling, feels an emptiness, a void.
It was twenty-to-five in the evening. Felix was on the bus on his way to the university. This being his first year, he was very much looking forward to the first day of school. He even felt a bit nervous. And if his senses were to be believed, so was everyone else on the bus. Some more than others.
The bus was fully packed, so 30 people plus the bus driver, although he could only feel 26 heartbeats. He couldn't hear his own pulse, but he should still be able to catch 30 other heartbeats (the bus driver included).
That meant there were four people in this bus whose heartbeat he couldn't hear, which was a first for the 19-years-old. This caused him to sink deep into his thoughts.
He did not realize that the bus had arrived. When the heartbeats receded, he looked up. He quickly followed the other students.
The campus was beautiful. Even though he had walked here before and had googled it time and time again, The University Of Sydney still managed to surprise him again and again. With its Hogwarts-like appearance, he dared to say that the campus possessed something magical.
He stumbled into his apartment around 5 p.m. When he takes off his shoes and coat, he notices another pair of shoes. Those must be from one of his roommates. He shared the apartment with two others.
He just thought of fixing a sleeping the day before yesterday. Thank god he could find a student who wanted to share his apartment, and the costs, with two others. He walked into the room he thought was the living room.
Felix reached out his hand and smilingly began ''Hi! My name's Felix and you a-"
''Minho."
"Nice to meet you, Minh-" His word was cut, again.
"Mhm, aren't you going to unpack your stuff?" said the other very monotonously, while he was...checking the curtains, "Just so you know, I prefer to work in an orderly space."
Felix put his hand down. What a lovely roommate. "Of course."
Felix raised his eyebrows and walked back into the hallway, where he left his suitcase. Just then did it occur to him that he didn't even know where he would be sleeping. Instead of asking his roommate, he preferred to find out for himself.
What was meant to be a small search for his bedroom ended in a viewing of the entire apartment. Only then did he find out that he hardly knew anything about the apartment in which he would be spending the next year.
It was a fairly large apartment. He had already seen the living room. There was also an almost empty room with music boxes, probably for dance practice since dancing was a part of the main subjects of the three. To Felix's delight a huge kitchen. He had developed a passion for cooking, especially sweets. Then there was a bathroom with two sinks, a bathtub, and a toilet. Last but not least is the bedroom, one for the three of them.
But this one was huge. One wall was taken up by three twin beds plus a nightstand for each, another was completely taken up by a closet, and the third had windows under which stood a desk of at least two meters.
After spending more than an hour unpacking his luggage, Felix was finally ready. Our blonde was starting to get hungry. It was already seven p.m. He decided to go see if any groceries had been done, maybe he could cook for his roommates on the first day. On the way to the kitchen, Felix noticed that Minho's shoes and coat were no longer where they were a good hour and a half ago. He probably had the sound on his headphones way too loud since he hadn't heard the closing of the door.
Assuming, therefore, that his roommate would not be home for dinner, Felix also had no reason to cook anymore. He decided to order fried chicken. According to Menulog, his meal would be there in thirty minutes. Felix decided to take a quick shower before his dinner arrived.
Fifteen minutes later Felix stood in front of the mirror drying his half-long blond hair in a towel. When he found it dry enough, he decided to do his daily skincare since he still had plenty of time.
He had already removed his lenses for the shower. Since they were not waterproof he didn't want to take any chances. He didn't wear his lenses because he had bad eyes, they were colour lenses. Brown colour lenses to be exact. To cover his natural eye colour. Red. They weren't always red of course, sometimes they were just brown like his lenses. But just in case they did turn red through the day, he almost always wore lenses. His eyes had not always been red-or brown, of course, he could remember the time when they were yellow-or-brown good enough.
He began to wash his face with soap. Although Felix was obviously different from many of his peers, they had one thing in common, wanting to look good. After washing off the soap, he started applying the cream. As always, the cream made his freckles less visible. While he let the cream soak in, he immediately got dressed.
He chose short dark blue fabric pants and a grey sweater. Of course also underwear and a pair of socks. Then he walked back to the bathroom. But he had hardly left the bedroom or he heard a bang at the front door.
