Chapter 2

He stood up and started to make his way up the hill. His thoughts wandered to the stunning beauty of the place. He never got tired while climbing as his mind was occupied by the panoramic view he got. At the top there was a gate, the gate didn't have any use as it was half broken.

The Orphanage was an old mansion overlooking a river which flowed around the hillside. The outer walls were filled with all sorts of wines and some even climbed inside through the broken windows and holes in the walls. It more or less looked haunted, and to him it was same as a haunted house. He reached the front door, and went inside. Some kid had nailed a dead snake to the front door, he felt sick whenever he saw this.

He walked forwards, a narrow passage succeeded the door, it lead to a large hall which was the dining room. The door to the right of the dining room lead to a flight of stairs which went down to the kitchen. To the left was another passage which had 2 rooms on either sides, this passage ended in a staircase leading to the first floor. Here there were 4 rooms and a hall. One of them was a store room, through this store room one could climb the ladder get to the attic. But there was another floor below the attic which could only be accessed by the stairs from the hall. These stairs were sealed off as it had many loose boards. So the second floor was completely boarded off.

As there were many rooms and the halls were also used for sleeping the kids were comfortably occupied, in a sense of space got for each.

Coming back to our present situation. He went to the dining room where he found Miss Fiona. She was a middle aged lady, thin like the wines which grew around the mansion. She wore heavy glasses and her face was quite expressionless. He walked forwards to expecting the worst. His expectations were mostly accurate and he knew he couldn't expect anything other than the worst from people like Fiona.
