"Clarke...if you need forgiveness....I'll give you that to you" I whispered to her. "You're forgiven" I say
Bellamy POV
I run fast through the woods. "May we meet again." I hear her voice inside my head, the image of her smile. "Please, look after Izzy?" The sadness in her eyes I remember it too clearly. "Bellamy! No!." I had heard her heart reaching scream as Clarke and Miller dragged her into the dropship. "Bellamy!" I whipped around, aiming my spear to see Monroe and Drew. "Monroe, get back down" I ordered them before slowly stepping towards the log. "You were followed?" Drew asked. "Quiet!" I hissed. "Have you seen Finn?" I asked Monroe. She shakes her head "Finns alive?" Drew asked. "He was, we got separated. We knew the fire was coming and we ran, but one of them followed" I explained. "How'd you guys get out?" I asked, knitting my brows together. "We, uh saw the Ark come down and we thought we'd come to get help" Drew explained. "Piece of it came down this way, Monroe thinks it's Mecha" Drew added. A sound in the distance makes our heads dart towards it. "Follow me..." I whispered. I wondered if she was alive, she had to be. Was her sister alive as well? I promised to look after Izzy. "Stay low and quiet" I ordered them before walking off. I walked towards the sound to see a Grounder dragging Finn by a rope and horse. "On your feet!" The Grounder ordered. "He can't keep up!" Finn shouted, trying to pick the kid up. "I said get on your feet!" The Grounders got off its horse. The Grounders pulled the kid forward before taking out his sword and turning him towards Finn before slicing his throat. "No!" Finn screamed. I had to look away, lowering my head. "That's one...I lost 300" the Grounders explained. He begins to step towards Finn. He took out water "Drink. You're lucky. I need to keep one of you alive to talk to the Commander" he explained. He picked Finn up and they begin to walk forward again and we followed.
Shadow's POV
I look at the floor, letting out a sigh of boredom. Something wasn't right about this place. People here are too nice, I didn't like it here. I wanted to go find my sister and Bellamy. "Your packet contains everything you need to know about Mount Weather, which I promise is not as confusing as the map on page one makes it up to look" the lady explained as the group of us are standing in the dining hall. "You can from level three, which houses our medical facility..." "Clarke!" Monty sighed as he rushed away. I looked over my shoulder to see Clarke and I let out a sigh as I rushed over to her. "Clarke!" I pulled her into a hug, glad she was safe. "Hi! You're okay" she stated as she pulled from me and then hugged Jasper. "Finn and Bellamy?" Clarke asked. My heart felt like it had broken again. I lowered my head. I was trying to ignore what my head was telling me. "Clarke, they..." Jasper looked over at me. "They didn't make it" I hissed out, anger building. "We don't know that," Clarke says. She was right, I wanted desperately to have hope. "What about Raven and Izzy?" Clarke asked. I felt tears form at my waterline as nobody answered her. "Welcome Clarke. If you have any questions I'm Keenan" the woman says, approaching her as she handed Clarke the same welcome packet.
Music plays through the dining hall as I sit with Monty and Jasper. "You've got to try this pie" Jasper moaned in amazement. Monty reached his fork out and took a bite. "Oh my god. What is that?" Monty asked him. "I don't know, but it's great" Jasper chuckled. My stomach growled, begging to try something to eat. I haven't eaten since getting here. "Mm. My turn!" Jasper says. "What? This? Nah you won't like it. The pie is better" Monty lied. Jasper tried sticking his fork in the cake but Monty was too fast. "Really?" Jasper asked. Monty nodded and they both shot up from the table. "Okay" Jasper laughed, getting the attention of others. "Hey, Clarke!" I waved as she approached us. She pulled up a chair between Jasper and me. "Sit down and pretend you're happy to see me" She whispered. "We are happy to see you," Monty says with a mouth full of cake. "You have to try the chocolate cake" Monty offered to Clarke. "It is so on," Jasper tells him. "I'm not eating their food" Clarke explained as she opened the information packet. She nudged me "Look, they gave us a map with no exits" Clarke pointed out. I had noticed that too. "I need you three to tell me everything you've seen. Every room, hallway. Every way out" She says. "Way out?" Jasper asked her. "Look around Clarke. There's no one hunting us here" Jasper pointed out. "First time in our lives we're not hungry. Why would we want to leave?" Jasper asked her. "Maybe because we have friends out there? Our people need help" I hissed at them both. "They're looking for survivors and they're way better equipped to find them than we are" Monty whispered, reminding me of what the leader had said when I woke up only yesterday. "This place is too good to be true" Clarke whispered. "You're bumming me out. I'm getting more cake" Jasper sighed. I knit my brows together when I see Jasper getting friendly with the girl Clarke almost killed. "Clarke, I'm with you....we need to leave here" I whispered to her. "I need to find Izzy and Bellamy," I say to her. "Come on" she grabbed my arm and pulled me with her over to Jasper. "Hey," Clarke says, setting her packet down. "It's Maya, right?" Clarke asked. She nodded "I just wanted to say sorry for this morning" Clarke apologized. "I was scared and worried about my friends. I hope you can understand" She smiled at Maya. Maya nodded before Clarke picked her packet back up and walked away. I followed Clarke and see her sticking Maya's key card in her pocket. "That's smart" I whispered.
We raced towards the doors when an alarm goes off. "Alert, code five!" The voice announced. "Come on Clarke!" I shouted, grabbing her head and running faster. I suddenly stopped when I see guards running our way. Then the other way "Come on!" Clarke screamed, pulling me with her. We get to the metal door and Clarke scanned the ID before we rushed inside. We closed the door and I looked at the long set of stairs. Clarke suddenly pulled the wires out of the door, creating a spark. "Good thinking," I say. We both ran up the long set of stairs. We rushed through a door and down another hall. We then rushed over to the door and Clarke tried pulling the lever. "Help!" She shouted. I rushed over to the circle handle on the door and turn it. Clarke reached up and grabbed the handle. "Clarke no!" Jasper shouted. "If you pull that lever these people will die" Jasper announced. "Even a little radiation can kill them" he added. Maya comes back with a gun "Don't make me shoot the both of you" Maya warned. "Clarke! Do it" I ordered her. "Wait..." Jasper stood in front of Maya before walking over to us. "Arabella...Clarke don't do this" Jasper begged. "I don't believe them..." Clarke whispered. "Why would they lie?" Jasper asked. "Listen to me. We are safe here because of you. The both of you, we're safe" Jasper says. "Not all of us..." I choked out. "I'm the one who fired the rockets," Jasper says through tears. "Should I not have done that?" He asked me. "My sister is out there! I know she is Jasper I can feel it" I sobbed. I reached up and placed my hand on Clarke's, ready to pull it. "You pulled that lever you saved lives. Don't throw that away by pulling this one" Jasper stated. "He's right..." Clarke looked over at me. I shake my head "No...Clarke" my bottom lips shook under my teeth. "There they are! Hold it right there!" The guards shouted as they pointed their guns. "Get your hands up and get down!" The guards rushed over, pinning my hands behind my back and shoving me to the ground as they did the same to Clarke. "Ahhh!" I screamed as they cuffed my hands behind my back. "Izzy!" I screamed, sobbing as I remember her getting stabbed in the chest.
Bellamy POV
The Grounder tied my hands together. "You have to stay on your feet or he will kill you" Finn explained to me. This was a bad plan, this was a horrible plan. Suddenly I hear the sounds of Monroe and Drew screaming as they begin to charge at the Grounders. Bang! I whipped my head around to see Marcus Kane followed by the Ark guardsmen. Arabella's father. "We're here now" he stated as they lowered their guns. "Everything's gonna be ok" he added. Marcus Kane filled the Grounder over and Abby Griffin, Clarke's mother came over with others. "Don't stand" she says as I try to stand to my feet. "I'm fine," I say to her. "We need to get back to the dropship," I tell Finn. "Hey, where Clarke?" Abby asked Finn. "Is she alright?" She then asked. "Where're my daughters?" Marcus Kane then asked as he approached us. "They were at the dropship when we left" Finn informed him. "You know Arabella and Izzy your daughters?" I asked Marcus. He nodded "We will take you to them," Finn says. "Wait. Slow down" Marcus says. "Sinclar, we're splitting up, One guard detail comes with me to the dropship and everyone else goes with you to Alpha station," Marcus Kane says. "When were you going to tell me Arabella and Izzy are Marcus Kane's daughters?" Finn asked as he leaned over. I shake my head "Never thought it would come up" I say. "You have the coordinates we will follow as soon as we can," Marcus tells him before walking back towards us. "You six with me, you two lead the way" Marcus ordered. We walk towards the campsite "We're almost there Abby" Marcus says to Abby.
We get close to the campsite, sneaking around when I realized it was too quiet. "It's too quiet" I announced. I go to stand but Marcus pulled me back down. "We will take it from here" he informed me. "Help!" I hear a familiar voice call out. "Anyone?!" I shoot up and ran towards the voice. "Shadow?!" I screamed. When I approached I see the blonde hair. "Oh my god, Izzy" Finn sighed. Marcus came over with Abby and the rest of the guards. "It's Izzy," Abby tells Marcus. I kneeled down next to her "What happened?" I asked, looking at her face. "I...I" she tried to speak. Abby looks at her wound before shaking her head to Marcus. "She's bleeding out..." Abby sighed. "There's nothing y-y-you can do?" Izzy whispered. "I...I can't feel my body" she sobbed. Marcus went to her head "Elizabeth right?" Marcus asked her. She smiled "Y-Yeah...." She stuttered out. "I'm Marcus Kane" he introduced himself. "Y-You're m-m-my father" she began coughing up blood. "You know?" I asked her. She laughed, coughing again. "Bethany told me....B-B" I touched her cheek. "Tell her for me? And tell her I'm so-sorry" She sobbed. I shake my head "She knew, She thought it would hurt if you knew" I explained. She laughed "Leave it to her to always...always try to protect me..." she whispered. "I...I'm dying" She stated. "Abby do something!" Marcus hissed. "There's nothing I can do...I'm sorry" Abby stated. Marcus sniffled "I-I love..." she whispered. "M-May you find the n-next" she shakily stated. "Safe passage on your travels..." Marcus begins saying for her. I felt it, the pain. "Until our final journey to the ground...May we meet again" Marcus says. "May we meet again" I stated. "I...I'm glad I f-finally met y-you...dad" Izzy whispered before taking her last breath. I looked away, not able to see this as Marcus shut her eyes. "She's gone..." Abby informed us.
Shadow's POV
The guards walk us down the hall before we entered a room. I see President Wallace, painting in front of us. "Lose the handcuffs" he orders them. The guards take the handcuffs off both of us. I looked around the room "There's two blank canvas if you'd like" he pointed out. "Sorry, I don't paint..." I squint my eyes at him. "I used to paint the ground too" Clarke informed him. "It's not the ground. It's a memory" He corrected her. I knit my brows together "You've been outside?" I asked him. "Yes, 56 years ago" he confessed. "For about five minutes. I was seven when the first of what we call the outsiders appeared. Before that we thought we were all there was, imagine our surprise" he explained. "We don't have to imagine" I stated. "My father, this was his office at the time, believed it meant that the earth was survivable again and so he opened the doors. Within a week 54 people were dead from exposure" he went on explaining. "My mother and sister among them" he added. He turned to us "Loss...pain. Regret. Time eases these things" he informed us. "But the only time it's ever truly gone is when I'm painting," He tells us as he takes off his coat and hangs it up. "You didn't bring us here to talk about a damn painting" I hissed out. "I'm afraid I have bad news," he says. "Our patrols have swept the area and found no evidence of survivors, either at your camp or from the Ark," he says. I knew he was lying, he was lying and I wasn't gonna let it happen. "How can they be sure?" I asked him. "They can't. I ordered them to keep searching—" Clarke cut him off. "We need to see for ourselves" she state. "I'm sorry. I can't allow that" he shakes his head. I scoffed "You May not see it but I'm doing this for your own good," he says. "It's not safe out there" he added. "Radiation does not affect us" Clarke pointed out. "It's not the radiation I'm concerned about." He Motion the guards to come back into the room. "You too need time to grieve. These men will show you both to your room" he explained. " and if we try to leave?" I asked. " please don't test me, ladies..." President Wallace asked. I like the inside of my cheek before Clark and I had walked out of the room.
We stand at the table together. " for the past in the future we serve" President Wallace called out. "We give thanks," The rest of them say. " good health, good food, and good company and the blessing of new friends," President Wallace says as he looks over to Clarke and me. "We give thanks" they all repeated before sitting down and beginning to eat. I sit down as Clarke does and stare at my food before picking up my fork and taking a bite. The taste hits my buds and I sigh. After dinner, Clarke and I walked back into the room. I see Monty and Jasper in their beds. I knit my brows together as there's a note left in my bed below Clarke's. I picked it up and opened it. In case you get Inspired. I knit my brows together to see the journal and pencil sitting on my bed. I watch Clarke draw on the map for a while I tossed the book into the trash. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest. "Ow...." I hissed. "What's wrong?" Clarke asked me. "I...I don't know" I shake my head. "Something is wrong Clarke," I say to her.
